Pics or it never happened!
It just shows why we need to get more of the word out. I'm sure if we get them busy enough, where BIAS becomes their day job, we'll see even more great products and faster delivery! Everyone who I...
Hmm never expected to have it move... What about using the biner to actually clip on the whoopie? No real point to have the marlin spike hitch anymore, but that'd work right?
Hey folks anyone used a carabiner instead of a toggle. I always have a few climbing rated biner's with me and I'd rather just hook them up instead of trying to find the toggles that I keep losing. I...
Just received my shiny new hammock! Pics soon to follow
Very excited as i just received my order slip on my fancy-dancy dangerbird today. I hate how long it takes to ship to Canada! Service was excellent all my questions were answered quickly and...
Hey folks any local fathers with young kids looking to do group meet ups? I'm thinking of trying to get a regular meetup together where new fathers/soon to be fathers can get together, chill out talk...
Just had my tarp delivered to me here at work... So excited I ended up taking it out of the box and setting it up in my office! Too bad I have clients or I'd be home right now getting funny looks...
Haha and that beautiful quote beside I'd say a dream-hammock or bias... Bias is a solid investment no matter how low the cost is... And I think papa does some of the best work on here. Either one are...
I ordered it in the new A-Tac camp scheme as well... Very excited!
Just dropped my order in... Already impatient to get this beauty and have it setup for a test run... My god the wait may kill me!
Thank god for crown land!
What did yours come with for guy lines and ridge lines? I'm making an order for some other zing it lines and wondered of I should fit on a SRL and some tensioned guy lines to my order.
My wife's brother talked my ear off about camping and hiking, hiking and camping. He had a hard time convincing his buddies do a bit more of a rigorous camping experience and I said sure I'd give it...
agree 100%
I will for sure. Unnecessary gear is the best kind of gear. I'm pretty sure this tarp covers more square feet then my first apartment!
That's it exactly but **** what a phenomenal price!
Just ordered the winterdream 12 from UGQ. Lol do it!
I'm looking at a DH soon. They are a bit more customizable. but the WBBB offers aome very cool options you sont see anywhere else. Either way I'm sure you will be happy!
Many different cultures have utilized some form of hammocks... The Greeks used them when invading Persia. The Prussians used them for nobility to relax while out on hunts and such. The Japanese used...
Pulled the trigger and bought a winterdream 12 from UGQ. Ill let you all know how it goes! Very excited for new gear.
Just ordered. Very excited. Cheers to all you folks who convinced me to give silnylon a shot!
Hmm thanks folks. I would have figured that we're there now as it seems like threads about his products are dominating the other manufacturer sub-forum. Cheers!
Ill have to make it out to one of these group hangs to see that sucker in action!
Well I'm sold now just to figure who to buy from!
Sorry but I don't get what you mean by setup options. Did you mean the placement of the door to stop rain and all that?
Do you folks really get good use out of the doors on your tarp? If you don't use them how do you tie them off? I'm intrigued by the warbonnet superfly and the winterdream by UGQ. So what sold you on...
Any chance of getting an UGQ subsection? What's the policy around this?
So... I can't find the tarp details page... Can anyone link me? I'd like to figure out size and weight. Other then that I'm loving the new site!
I set it up at a buddies place. I cut out the drywall doubled up the studs and added some L brackets from their I recessed in a small panel with a 1600 pound rated eyebolt. Then I drywalled over it....
I agree that the bias are excellent critters... I may also recommend the dream hammocks... Ultimate in custom fit hammock... And both bias and dream hammocks are phenomenal at getting back to you in...
Fixed that for ya
Haha trolls be hungry! Na, I'm not trolling. It's more me looking at getting people's opinions not what would work best for me but what works for them and why. But also why their tarp is better then...
I've been in a few spots where it looked great but after a second inspection from a different angle has shown that I'm sleeping in possibly the most dangerous spot in a 5km radius! It's an ability...
My sentiments exactly
Haha ya by all means... I've posted plenty of times and you've offered valuable advice... This time around I'm looking for a different set of information. Knowing that...
It would be possible to do this by making a long skirt for the top.. But when you break down the hammock if its pouring rain you're gunna get soaked and so is your hammock... Interesting idea though
I hate Canada somedays... It's -3 Celsius and I have 20 cm of snow on the ground... And I'm not Canadian enough to try winter camping haha! Congrats on the sweet setup!
Lol, when I first read the OP, I honestly thought he meant hooking onto the trunk of a really wide tree haha
Zing, love it!
On a serious note:
A lot of people are for the superfly, I may have to look into that one more. I know he makes good hammocks but never really considered his tarps.
Sorry, didn't mean to get your goat! It's still too early for that this morning!
Well my site picking isn't nearly as refined as many of yours. So I'd hate to see an error on my part ,...
But that's no fun. I'd rather know why you like it and what made it your go to equipment. That way I can get a better idea if your needs and wants resemble my own. Just seeing what it is doesn't tell...
Haha I know some of you have figured it out but let me break the cycle. I'm glad I can get you guys all talking. While I like my tarp and it's worked very well, I will want to upgrade but without...
Nope not at all. I actually do some pretty rough crown land hikes. 12 oz is a fair chunk but like I said for 70 bucks and being tough as nails is very important. Can anyone attest to the abrasion...
Made my night!
The problem is I don't see a next step in my tarp buying... I'm having a hard time finding the pros to any silnylon tarps or any tarp much bigger then this one as it fits sooo...
Ya that one looks great but I dunno about needing those end flaps... Do you really find them useful?
Bah you crazy weight weenies ;) haha. I dunno the extra cost for the tadpole and the material...
I feel that the Hennessy 70d hex tarp is one of the best tarps on the market. It may not be fancy but it's cheap and rugged. While I don't own any other tarps looking at the specs I don't see any on...
I'm 265 so most single layers are out.
So a few questions- I've e-mailed Randy but I figured I'd post this here to you the owners of the 253 hammocks he's already made!
And here it is!
I'm a heavy guy, what do you suggest material...
I'm thinking of getting the camper with a buginator. How would this pull together with my underquilt? I'm assuming the tightness factor may cause for CBS from squishing the down. also should I get...
