Welcome to another Tassie person!
On a side note I did overland track and hammocked at the designated campsites every night fine, recommend off season though as free's up more spots - have youtube...
Nice work, I've always been keen on a BMBH but never been certain if I would fit being around 6'2" to 6'3"ish, only 165lbs though! You think I would fit ok?
PM sent! If can ship to Aus... Was planning on one of these!
Daypack... first thing to go in day pack would be Nikon D700 and other appropriate camera gear :)
I have http://woolerina.com.au/bodymate-range/unisex/armwarmer but lost 1 =( so going to order more.
Merino at $15 and Australian made seems like a good deal to me! -free shipping too!
I *may* be doing a group hike or could be car camp nye which i'll be hanging either way, right after that I'm probably off for roughly a 4 day trip, summer here atm but probably heading to the...
The be some nice looking quilts! enjoy :)
awesome photos and a great hang spot!
Now price is fixed I went to order and doesn't look like they will ship to Australia :( only had box for USA and Canada
I noticed the squeeze filter set is only $43.15 from moon trail http://www.moontrail.com/sawyer-squeeze-water-filtration.php
flow rate looks allot better than my sawyer inline so it might be a worth...
WOW I just got my 20*F Phoenix, I wasn't expecting it so soon as I didn't see a shipping notice and anticipated lots of orders, fantastic construction as normal!
Unfortunately I have work christmas...
Today I got my first Blackbird :D
It's a 1.1 SL with adjustable webbing.
I wanted to get the blackbird as my first hammock but when I didn't know much the HH DJ with the 2 tarps and the...
I have my warbonnet superfly sil in hennessy snake skins, size 4, fits better than the 70D hennessy hex
I got my delivery notice too! bust sometimes USPS can be really slow to aus, so here's hoping
Yeah... I brought the 1.1 SL blackbird, and a 20*F Phoenix...
edit: and i've not even received my kammok yet...
Blackbird single layer for $135! I was waiting for that, but also waiting for HG under quilt... money money money...
Cheers everyone, I had no issues finding spots, but if it was peak season it could be hard to find a spot around some of the more fragile area's, if/when I do it again in peak (oh i'm doing it again,...
Hi All,
Finally I've finished processing and uploading all 6 videos of my recent(ish, 10th of October start) 7 night walk in Tasmania's Overland track, this is widely claimed as Tasmania's best...
I would... but I brought in on the kickstarter :)
Isn't Qantas changing their logo anyway?
I think I said I would before... but anyway I just did, ordered one! may as well see what it's like
I don't now, but if/when build own house I intend on doing so
One set of Elephant Trunks ordered :)
taken from the kickstarter page, it lists:
Dimensions: 5'7" x 10' (170cm x 300cm) - ...its so comfortable & roomy!
Max Weight: 500 pounds - ...our attorneys make us put that
Weight: about 20oz...
WELL... at the price of $85 with $10 international shipping it actually puts it in the same realm of getting a WB traveler 1.1sl with webbing (to be comparative weight) at $60 and $35 shipping to...
I have access to a pretty good thread injector now, I contracted an ex tailor (ok... my mum) to sew up my current tree huggers and they are holding up well
I had a thought the other day, why not make a belt out of/that doubles as a spare tree hugger?
Just using poly webbing and some descending rings, if in need the rings could also be used or depended...
Well I'm pleased to say I received my 3s burrow and pillow today!
Order was 689 and shipping all the way to aus slowed it down a bit, but still here nearly a fortnight before next trip! will try and...
I've got a Hennessy Deep Jungle, I like it with the zipper, *if* i can't see it's just a quick tug at the fabric to see.
Another pro seems to be the side tieouts don't really need to be used, yeah...
Pitch looks pretty tight, happy with hex over cat cut?
I ask cause I've been eyeing them off too :)
I use OS-X and there is a dashboard widget thing that does conversions, one keystroke and it's up
I'm about 6'3 and 74kg (yeah aussie weights), although i'm not as tall or heavy my Hennessy deep jungle long has more than enough room, to the point i wonder if i would of fitted in the smaller...
I found the stock tree huggers that came with my hennessy didn't free up well when doing a marlin spike so I swapped them out with DIY's, much easier now
I don't have to worry about my 22 year old paint, that's what a real 4WD is for :D
I've hung a number of times from the rear roll cage in my Daihatsu Feroza, sing out if you want pics, I've got them somewhere...
Well i've been meaning to anyway so I brought a 3s Burrow long in black and a pillow, order #689
I agree with Bomber, you get a bit more useful threads too as a donating member
**** all your praises on these fine products! you made me go and buy a pair of everything! :)
haha, well down south in Tasmania we don't have croc's, but we do have devils, all 3 snakes that we have are deadly and also the rare but formidable dropbear http://australianmuseum.net.au/Drop-Bear
Thanks for the positive comments everyone, I was a bit dubious of the video's personally
Was just a one night trip due to work, but I recently went down to the same place with some others for a 2...
yeah my photos slowly but surely find their way onto flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/segiy/
Day 2 video is up!
nrM9V9dNaK8
Not much video on this day as my phone batt was getting low, but I do run though the tarp in a bit better detail.
If you can't tell i'm also not a morning...
Well I know I don't post much here, but I do read allot and appreciate allot of the video's put up, so when out on a solo walk I did a bit of filming myself!
Now unfortunately the only camera I...
2 nights so far, but later in the year i've got roughly an 8 day trip planed
G'day Smartee!
If it make you feel better I'm +.1 for the Hennessy... there is still a chance i'll pull the trigger on a blackbird but need a better test.
Mine is a Deep jungle (which is a...
sorry, I'm penciled in to be back in melbourne over that weekend (assuming I have any money left over after the going to the F1, **** monthly pays!)
Well I'm doing overland in September, which is quite often deemed the mecca of Tassie walks if anyone is interested.
I'm in Tassie! there is water in the way... but there is always planes if a worthy walk ;)
I've got 3 trips planned within 2 months already :)
Order #240 - Summer crowsnest =)
I had this issue earlier in the year at a camp site with a ton of strangers, either stood behind the tarp if the coast were clear that way or sat in the hammock under the tarp most the time.
Also...
+1 as well, testing is a good cover though... sounds allot more legitimate than playing.
on a side note this weekend I "tested" a $25 "hikers fly" I picked up recently from of all places a...
