Not down, but very nice.
FInally got the hammock...been backordered all this time.
It came in a Travel Hammock box too...:D
...never been over that far yet...I spent a week up near John Bridge last fall on a Moose hunt though...I really like Maine.
l1ranger- Where did you canoe in Maine?..
I ordered the Cabelas double...backordered, but should be here in 2 weeks. I've got a set of OWF 1" camo straps and UL descender rings all ready to go.
Thanks! I've got some room left on a gift cert. purchase...I think I'll slide a double in to top it off.
Just remember the camping regs...no camping abouve 3500'...The rangers will make you move if they find you up higher than that.
...anyone have any insight on one of these??...
...
Anyone know what the general consensus is on the DD hammocks? Pricing looks good...
Thanks for the replies fellas...now that neo's talked some sense back into Tom, I'll give'em a good look.
Can the JH's netting be dropped when not needed?
Nice looking tarp...
Can it be had by itself?
Sweet.
I think from some of the intital reports I'd be a bit better served by the wider version.
Any word on a bigger/wider version of the BMBH?
Thanks!
got one from Jeannette...
Heat is good....I've got 2 Kifaru's and they will spoil one rotten after a few trips sitting around in single digit temps in a tee-shirt...
The project looks good Turk...
What are the differences between the two double hammocks?
Aside from suspensions that is...I already plan to use webbing and descenders...
Are they close to the same size? Same construction?
...
How does one tie in a ridgeline??...what keeps it from slipping?
I guess I'm in good company then...
My webbings in...I'm having a friend sew the loops tomorrow night....yahoo!...
...sounds like a plan...I was just curiuos if other ring users had some slippage or was is just one of those things that typically happen to me and not others...lol...:D
I'm going to start w/...
First stab at descender rings was over the weekend. I used some Lowes steel rings and a tie down strap from the backseat of the pick-up...without throwing a hitch the rings would slip everytime I got...
I see your pic's of the Claytor on your weathersheild thread...I didn't want to muck up that thread w/ questions so here goes...
How do you like the Claytor? How flat can you lay in it? How big is...
yup...
In the mean time I'm trying to work out a quicker easier way to hang the HH. I'm leaning towards a bowline or double 8 in the stock HH mainline, then trimming the excess once I'm satisfied...
...a quick question about ring buckles in general...
Could I simply tie the stock HH suspension line to the buckles or is the thinner line required?
gotcha...thanks.
Newbie question here...
Why would a structural ridgeline be advantageous for the Clark and Claytor?
What about peices of open celled foam? I'd thiink the foam would expand some to help fill the voids on top of clothing etc. Using a designated compression sack to carry the foam should keep the pack...
FF- That's some great pricing...
Grizz- I spoke with Jack one the phone. He was a bit reserved on adding the height of a pad to the inside of his hammock as it would decrease stability with the...
FF- I'd like to work around the Exped if possible as it is intended to pull doubleduty with some of my other shelters.
Namely these...

mebbe I'll get lucky and Jack's will build them w/ some sorta stretchy material to accomodate various pad thicknesses...DIY sewing isn't really my forte'...lol...
Smee...doesn't look like the Exped will fit in the pad pocket...can you confirm this? If not can the Exped be tossed into the hammock itself?
That's a nice looking hammock. What is the recommended...
Sounds great...I have a Exped dlx 9 on the way...should fit right in there for cold weather use...
What's it going to weigh roughly?? Under 3?
Pan- Can you explain some of the advantages of the new BMBH? I'm new to hammocking and have been seriuosly considering a Clark. So far I've spent 5 nights in a HH.
Thanks.
