Srry go bump an old thread, but you should look into the Halo Recon 5 sleeping bag. I it zips shut from the top making it a really good bag for your hammock... It's rather expensive though, so but...
I deployed with the Brits... Twice...
On board the HMS ARK ROYAL, as well as the HMS OCEAN...
Welcome from Chattanooga, Tn
I'm from north Ga/Tennessee area and I go all over the place around here. I started a thread titled "NW Georgia/Tennessee Hang".
Well we were in the final prep stages of it and last minute events have made us postpone it... My friend has to go to Mississippi, I have to be in school by the 23rd... so, we are putting it off for...
Hey Lazyboy, you wanna plan another outing?
Hey, ok I have a "near" PERFECT suggestion for you... GoLite makes a "sleeping bag-like" quilt that works PERFECT for a hammock! It is 1lb 7oz & It's rated to 20*F. I know it is rated to below...
PM myself or Lazyboy for info on next trip
Yea... I couldn't go that time. However... (PM)
I just sold your number to convergys for $50... lol
Ewker, you should PM Lazyboy and get in on the next event ;)

Awesome trip
I think the whole adjusting the tarp over the hammock is really just about being picky about neatness. I do it too, and I have noticed that its mostly because I have to have everything nice,...
Nice! Both very sharp looking! How much did they each cost in supplies to make...?
I use two fig 9's for my ridge line... I was thinking of doing away with one and just using a biner... Keep the other fig 9 to adjust...
They work great though for sure
I read it. Sounds like a good time for sure. Thanks
@Neo
I'd like to come to this if that's ok...? I've never been there before so directions and all that is necessary... I don't even know where this is other than the fact it's around Nashville......
Yea, the more the merrier. If we can get a good group of people to do this that would be great
...eh more like a piece of Germany in my town here in the U.S. of A.
Wink
What about August 11th - 12th. Two weeks from now?
Was she nudging her shoulder towards her house...
Hey, steak, potatoes, and nice night of R&R under the sheets isn't necessarily a bad thing...or on the floor... Wherever you end up... Wink wink...
Well hopefully they aren't crap... We shall see for sure. Please post up pictures and a review...not that it really matters as I use whoopies... But would be nice to know that ENO is trying to...
I tried using bungees but it didn't seem to make it taut enough
One night'r, weekender , or extended?
That sounds good!
I have been dying to backpack the Tennessee River Gorge Segment of the Cumberland trail... It starts at Signal Mountain and makes a huge loop around Raccoon Mtn. 35 kilometers...
Ehhh "stealth", "ninja", "secret squirrel", "spook", ECT
Camping without being spotted. Either deep in the woods, or right under
People's noses...
Well, you can't MAKE ignorant people do the right thing... But what you can do is enforce punishment for those that choose to be idiots... The ones that want to destroy things and act like fools can...
That's true. Say, is that a ******* Ale Logo?
I don't think it should be illegal unless it poses a health risk to someone else, interrupts the flow of business, destroys property, ECT... If I want to go out in the woods, pitch a tent/hammock,...
Go ahead and support the Chinese economy
Sweet! That has been I my to do list
Whenever. I'm down to go whenever. I'd like to get out this weekend... I might be doing a spook hang at a nearby car manufacturing facility this weekend.
Anyone around this area wanna help plan a group hang?
Anyone from the Tennessee area? More specifically, around Chattanooga...? And even more specifically, have you been to the new Volkswagen facility...? If so then you may have noticed all the trails...
Nah they aren't... Showing up as anything... Maybe cause I'm on my iPad... Which would be understandable
How do you locate the thread using those reference numbers? Just search the numbers themselves..?
I say this all the time my friend...
Cool thank you
Yea army surplus stores will definitely have them
The Kelty Noah 12'er is PERFECT. IMO, the 16'er is just too long...
Take two sticks and use them. I mean, you can find sticks anywhere... even in the woods ;)
Alright, I wouldn't just buy one kit that comes together... You can mix match and save a lot of money. The eno hammocks run around $45. You can then get a kelty Noah 12' tarp or a Hennessy Hammock...
I use an ENO DN $50. A Hennessy Hexfly $60. a poncho liner for my bottom insulation $10. and a sleeping bag unzipped for my top insulation which you probably already have.
However, I wouldn't...
THAT is a good looking tarp! I wish my Hennessy Hex was cat cut between the ground tie outs...
Gotcha. I might try that out seeing as how it's very cheap considering.
It looks kinda small... I mean, a lot smaller than I thought it was... I actually looked at one of these the other day...
My only problem with the "specifically designed winter gear", is that it costs a crap load... for a good UQ ur looking at 200-300 USD... I'm not talking about DIY... Just off the shelf and go.
I sprayed my hammock down with permethrin... although its only been a little over a month, haven't noticed anything... Maybe not enough time?
I also sprayed my rain tarp down... Trying to bypass a...
