just saw this thread today....may I suggest a drive along I-40 east to Shores lake/white rock mt. near Mulberry Ark. about 40 miles east of Ft Smtih .

its a geat lil 13mile loop trail... it uses a...

attempting a thru of the Ouachita trail... west-east....start date feb.18th.
also regular overniters through the year @ greenleaf state prk in eastern oklahoma. Life is Good!!!

I will be hiking the Ouachita trail this coming feb.15th. I can ride GH bus to McAlester,Ok. which puts me about 50miles from the trailhead @ Talahina,OK.

Congrats on the cuben tarp!...yer gonna love it...had mine up in the woods 4 times now...one thing Im kickn around for all of my tie outs, is using shock cord only!! anybody ever rig it this way?...
