Actually, the Dutchware logo is the style of hook. It has the small fins that you wrap the suspension around. 167179
Does anyone have any of the older dutch hooks? My lawnmower decided to try and eat my ridgeline but only got the hook and threw it somewhere into the woods...
I couldn't find them at dutchware, but...
Hey guys and gals! I just hooked up with a Roo from a member here and showed it off to a buddy of mine and he went bonkers.
If any of you have one just taking up space ( what little space it takes...
I'll take the kammock. PM sent.
Hey guys, its been a while since I've posted, and have had a few hangs now and have a question regarding sleeping pads. I have found that they do increase warmth, and are fairly easy to fit into the...
Happy Christmas and Merry New Year!
Hey DIYers!
I am looking at the prices of down, and the current balance in my bank account, and the potential UQ and TQ that I am super excited to make, and all the factors aren't quite cooperating...
Im in for sure!
Toss my name in the hat please! Thanks this is awesome!
A heads up:
Due to the unique and revolutionary insulation and manufacturing techniques required, Shiver Shield can NOT be sewn, punctured, or in any way ruptured. Caution should be taken to avoid...
So Dutch, the tape, you tape the mesh to the upper part, sew it, then peel it away? Is that what you mean?
Nice. Thanks guys.
What is the easiest way to join the baffles to the second layer in a quilt?
Is it as easy as I imagine it, or are there some tricks that anyone can let me in on?
I'd be interested in some as well... Looking to make an UQ and a TQ. PM sent.
Well done! I'm waiting for my Zing-It to arrive to do the same thing. Come on USPS!
Has anyone thought of just sewing a ripstop shell over a down throw blanket for their UQ?
Found a cheap throw 50x60 and 7oz and thought about a mod to that?
For reference:...
Just placed my order for the Tad Pole! Can't wait to see it.
Does the ridge design allow for just a taut pull without having a ridgeline? Anyone know?
Inspiring! Nice looking tarp!
Nice!! Myself and a couple of buddies are headed that way next week! Thanks for the report... NOW how am I going to focus at work?!?! *chomps at the bit*
Splicing the Amsteel sounds daunting, but it really isn't. The trickiest part I've found is making sure the buries are the right length, (but you can still kinda fudge it a little). When you hold the...
Thx Happy. I got my email response as well. =(
Back to looking! Thinking about the WildernessLogics. Support the local economy, you know...
Howdy from Durham!
How are those flys? I really need to drop the hammer and get a fly. $29 seems almost too good to be true?
Aloha from Durham! I'm new too, but everyone here is right nice.
How about using a dutch hook at the free end of the whoopie? Is that strong enough to hold a tensioned ridgeline? I was thinking about doing this.
Ok- on to the next issue... well tarp is really the next issue, but DIY with sil and mineral spirits are a bit daunting... so UQ seems a bit more doable at the moment. ;)
So... IX or Down? I'm sure...
Ok... got my whoopies made (hooray!) went outside to a couple of trees about 18ft apart. Set up my hammock, got in and was tilted to the right about 10oclock left 4 oclock right.
I don't think that...
Sounds like the intial 50' will be my starting point. Dynaglide may be my next order.
Done. 7/64ths on the way. I got 50ft, sounds like that is a general size people get around here? Thanks so much guys. Catavarie- I would be interested in seeing your rig. I'll pm you. On the way to...
I'm not a big guy, and if the wife gets her way, I ain't getting any bigger! I'm around 180  and am trying to decide if which diameter I should get in the Amsteel Blue. Any suggestions,...
Thanks guys! I am looking at re-rigging my Travel Hammock (all I have and can afford right now!) and am curious about whoopie slings. I see most everyone uses the Amsteel. What about the Zing-It? or...
Wow. I mean wow. I am so overwhelmed with how much information there is here. And here I thought I was set up with my little backpacker hammock and 4mm cordage... Whoopie slings? Spike hitches?...
