Spectacular moss/shroom forest all around lake Hozomeen. Easy hike but long drive on gravel (Skagit Rd.) but worth it IMO.

As climate change stress on bear habitat leaves bears starved I believe increasing bear-human incidents are inevitable.

Interested as well. I'm 240# and while I'm unconcerned my RR will hold me, about 4" more elbow room at the cat cut would make a much more comfortable sleep for me.

Many years of camping in the PNW. Synthetics have saved my butt many times. That said, I love my down bags for winter but tend not to use them unless in the teens or colder. YMMV

Ya, the lake trail is probably best for day tripping, but if you wanted to haul lots of gear it's definitely doable. In a pinch a shopping cart makes a dandy push trailer.

Try a small pillow, jacket, etc under your right knee. More diagonal, and vary your position along long axis. Also often helps if head end is lower than feet end.
