Well, I got new straps, but I've been thinking, even with new straps trees will still be able to cut them up. So I got to thinking, does anyone put anything between the tree and their straps? I was...
I emailed strap works to see if they could stitch end loops for me! They have a slightly more expensive webbing that can take up to 3800#
probably 25 degrees, the eno stretches some
The hanging angle was probably about 30 degrees when I was in it myself, I didn't really get to check the hanging angle when we both sat in it together cause it broke it less than a second......
The webbing I was using was rated to 1000+ lbs, but I'm gonna switch it out with some 3000lb webbing and see how that works.
If trees can damage webbing so easily, shouldn't there be a better alternative? Or does everyone carry spare webbing? I guess from the nights spent in the wbbb I just kinda figured the webbing was...
I'm 100% sure my webbing was not nylon, it was poly. I was using webbing/buckle suspension, not the slapstraps or anything from ENO other than the hammock.
If I switch to whoopie slings maybe I could use a spectra sling from yates
http://www.yatesgear.com/climbing/slings/index.htm
Or I also just found this site, I wonder if their webbing will work...
It has been suggested that I could switch over to whoopie slings, but as I understand it, these still rely on webbing to attach to the trees? Would that webbing still be susceptible to breakage?

Webbing wasn't more than a month old. It was purchased to use with my eno single nest for hiking on the weekends. I purchased the webbing from a reputable dealer on here, and he has already...
Hey Guys,
So a couple of weekends ago, I took the girl friend to lake elizabeth park thinking to give her, her first hammock experience. I bought an Eno doubble deluxe and hooked up a polyester...
I sent a PM. Hopefully he gets it, cause the more I look at the site, the more I want to order, but the more questions I have :(
Hi all,
Hope this is a good place to post this, but I'm looking to get some more insulation for my warbonnet hammock from KAQ, but I also want to pick up one of the nifty pillows. Problem is I...
Thanks everyone! looking forward to placing my order after payday!
Well,
I got my gossamer gear 1/4" pad, I got my thermolite reactor sleeping bag liner, I got my blackbird hammock, and I'm planning to order a light hiker bedroll. My only issue is whether to get...
Man, thats not what I was hoping to hear :-/
So, It's been recommended that I get a Molly Mac 3/4 UQ Baby Orca and a Light Hiker Bedroll DL for my 1.7DL warbonnet blackbird.
Has anyone here used these products?
How small do they pack?...
So it seems like it can be a problem. I was thinking that bad things might happen if some of the hammock got pinched in the sleeping bag when trying to zip it up.
Hey guys,
I was talking with someone about my idea for using a sleeping bag, or a zippered poncho liner + a thermolite bag liner, and he thought zippers might be a problem. So I'm turning to you...
I bought the thermolite reactor extreme and regular at REI today. I like the extreme, it's super comfortable and warm. Gotta get a poncho liner and see how well the two combine.
Okay,
Quick question, doesn't the side zipper on a sleeping bag create possible problems with the hammock? I'd be worried about rubbing+pinching etc.
Well, after doing even more research, I'm...
Okay, so if blankets and bag liners won't work, looks like I need another solution. The issue with sleeping bags is that this will be carried, in a compression sack on a daily basis. So I doubt a...
Festus, thanks a million for the explanation that really helped. I think I'm gonna go with the under pad solution for now and then save for an underquilt.
toasty liner has a zipper for ventilation. Has anyone bought one of these? What about this http://wiggys.com/moreinfo.cfm?Product_ID=197 a zippered poncho liner?
I'm trying to provide...
Hmmn... I just found out about Molly Mac and his underquilts/hammock socks, has anyone used these? What are the pro's and con's compared with a typical down underquilt? Additionally does using a...
Looks like there are only a few choices for hammock pads. I'd love some pointers.
I'm guessing thinner is better for comfort?
I'm guessing wider is better for insulation?
I started looking...
Well, I ordered a dbl 1.7 wbbb hammock, so now my thoughts are turning to insulation. I'm thinking that initially I'll probably use a foam pad for underneath the hammock, but that leaves me with two...
Well, I got a response from brandon and it looks like the 1.1 will be in next week so no worries there. I guess i'm just still kind of tossed then. One more quick question, how does using the shelf...
I emailed Brandon to see what the timeline was for availability of the 1.1dbl. I think the wait time might be the deciding factor as I'm going to Europe in May and hope to be able to take it with me...
Inexperienced Hammock'er here. I am 5'10 230lbs and I'm trying to decide between the 1.1DL vs the 1.7DL WBBB. I know this has been asked before, on the forum, but I think I'm trying to clarify...
Lately I've decided I need more relaxation and less work in my life. I'm trying to spend more time in the outdoors and figured a hammock would be the perfect way to enjoy camping. I've spent enough...
