One thing to note about Cedar Hill SP you will be hard pressed to get a spot in the primitive area. They are all ways booked solid as its to close to Dallas. The sites there are not that primitive....

There are a few places with 2 to 2 1/2 hours of Dallas to hang.

1. Cross Timber Trail. Very nice to hike. Called the Toughest Little Trail in Texas about 17 miles of up and down. Not a state park....
