Going to keep my eyes on this as my weekends are usually last minute kind of things. Looking forward to get out again. This Summer flew by with almost no tree time.
I ended up at sleepy hollow. Arrived late but it was packed by rvs for their Halloween weekend. No sites left with trees but had a great night with my ground setup which luckily came with me. Thanks...
Thanks. I'll check them out

Hey Hammockers. I am going to be spending one night Friday outside of Lansing to visit a friend there on Saturday. Any recommendations for a site to stay at in the area?
Thanks,
Josh
Heading to finally see Niagara the last weekend with the wife. Was hoping to make it again. Maybe October will work out.

I'd love to build one of these for next winter.
I love the loop addition. The one issue I had when I used this technique was grabbing it when I used small line.
I had a great time. People time was short but I sure learned a lot about gear adjustment and I have some new ideas for the tarp I'm about to start work on. Glad to meet everyone, hopefully next round...
Having some car trouble but hoping to get it sorted and get there late Friday night. If I make it I'm planning on staying 2 nights.
I would like a pulk as I have a ton of bulky cold weather gear. 3-5 sounds promising. Slept in the garage last night add it was down to 15* here in Cleveland as a test.
Excited to test gear and get into the woods. Planning meals today and wrapping up my gear list.
Il be coming down after work so is guess I'll be they 8-9pm. So it will be a dark at up for me, luckily I have new gear that is untested to set up in the dark :) meeting at site c? And what is the...
I would love some tartan for my quilts & tain gear #
That is near perfect for me. Single digits will make me lose digits with the gear I have but 20-30 is the butter zone
Me too:) Hope you survive Palm Beach. Must be rough.
Got a few inches of snow in cleveland today. First actual snow of the season. Would love for a little of that snow on the 22nd but there are advantages to 45 and sunny. Costco quilts almost done
Looking forward to finally make it to one of these events. Just rather not reenact a scene from white fang. :)
40 ish is very doable. 7* was scaring me.
I'm in for the 22nd. Just got to get these quilts sewn up.
Is there still talk of another January hang? I might be able to make one in jan. Did anyone make it last weekend?
Just got back from a weekend trip in PA so if I make it it will be with the family which means cabin. But if we make it we will definitively stop by whatever site you guys are set up on
Sorry. Now I get your question. If whoever gets the site writes "HF"on their line it should do it but hopefully it will all work out for you. Good luck and hope to make November
Might be able to make November hang. Recovering from pneumonia and backpacking in PA the following weekend so can't make this weekend.
Hobo, the sign in sheet should show if the site is already...
Just got word I do, in fact, have to work this Saturday. Have been looking forward to this for months. Maybe next time around :(
Work is going to come down to the last minute. I'd love to make it but right now can't promise or commit.
the next week works for me. My project is going live the last week of April so if that isn't delayed it may complicate my going but the weekends should still be free.
I'm definitely interested. Was hoping to get out during the winter but I need to build out some more gear before I'm ready for winter hanging. April sounds great, was hoping to get my new tarp & UQ...
To avoid the sewn through quilting effecting loft could one sew baffled channels and slide a piece of Primaloft into the channel that was cut to size? You would then be able to take advantage of the...
I'm seriously tempted to make the long drive out for this. Been in India the last 2 years and could use some cold. Do we have any target dates for this trip? I've got a lot of DIY to do in time...
I love sleeping bear dunes. Would be wonderful if it was hammock friendly.
Thanks Xtrm tj, Yeah, I have a shockcord & cord lock to synch the collar. I have a mitten hook behind my neck to join the two ends together. I could stay posed for that picture for about 15.3...
I finally got around to finishing the Thru-Hiker 5.0 oz Quilt kit I had brought in from the States. I used the DIY Gear Supply Pattern as a base, except that I didn't taper the foot box as I have...
My 5 year old is dying to go camping as well. She wants to do it for her birthday, which makes me happy enough :) Thanks for the vid!
I made a 5.0 oz Apex top quilt for my trip to the Himalayas in June. I can tell you that in 90* F weather you can keep it on for about 3.5 seconds before it feels like your whole body is on fire. ...
Has anyone suggested plaid yet? I would love some good Hi'Land Tartans. I wouldn't be able to order any here in India, but I'd love to see some.
I'm working for an IT company here in Hyderabad. With the webbing I let it sit out on my balcony and the sun was eating away at it. It was just the webbing from one of those luggage straps you get...
Finally got some DIY supplies from stateside!
Read here about creating my first big project: a 9x9 square tarp. Action photos forthcoming....
Most of the pipe smoking I do these days is from the hammock but I also detest the smell of cigarette smoke. But if it was a great deal I would just wash it till it smelled perty again.
Yeah, I guess that's a little vague :) The proper term for that is the "bury" but watching the videos on the site are what I found most helpful. Good luck!
I don't think you really need to melt dyneema, if you tuck it into itself you should be fine. I get my amsteel shipped from the states, so I know how precious it can be but making a small practice...
Welcome from India. I'm working on putting my first kit together as well, the bug problem has kept me from actually spending the night in my hammock but I'm in it whenever I have a free moment at...
Bummer, I was hoping to make this but my trip home to the states is postponed. Maybe next year.
So work has been crazy but I haven't had a chance to make any of my hammocks that exist in my head. I have the material, but no sewing machine or time. I did, however finally move from hanging my...
No helpful information. I was just happy to see Tesla first thing this morning.
Anyone from snake country? I have 2 dogs that I would love to take with me. I love the hammock for its ability to avoid these fascinating creatures of nature but I'm concerned about the dogs being...
I finally went into the old city and picked up some Polyester Crepe and silk (I have no idea what variety or quality) to start making some hammocks and Silk TQs. Now just to find myself a sewing...
Also interested in this one. Lots of silk here in India but don't know what the grades are called and how much is too much to spend. If I'm spending American prices I know I'm being hoodwinked :)
I'm in. You guys Rock!
