Cool. Thanks.
Interesting. I've got a Warbonnet Blackbird Double Layer made of 1.1 oz (two actually, my wife has one as well). We've been using them since 2011 or so and they're both still in perfect condition. ...
How hard are you on your gear? I've had a double layer Warbonnet Blackbird for many years that I use a half dozen times per season and it is still in perfect condition. Granted this is a single...
Thanks. The BIAS website makes a good sell for the HD-1.0 (since it appears to be only about 0.6 oz heavier for a 56-58" HD-1.0 vs 52" WWM). Weight is nice but I really want to minimize volume too....
Anyone have both? Tried both? Handled both?

If I push it out flat and measure it at it's widest/longest point it is about 38" wide and 50.5" long.
With the stuff-sack it weighs 16.02 oz.
Here are some pics. No holes no tears. Nothing...
Original rating of the Freeze was 20 F so with the 1 oz overstuff it should be around 15 or 18 F
Perfect Condition Te-Wa Freeze UQ. This one is black on the outside, silver on the inside with 1 oz overstuff. Approx 38" by 50.5". 16.02 oz with stuff sack.
It is 4 years old. Always stored...
I've been using the MM for a while now and it is awesome. Ended up buying my girlfriend one too. It basically boils down to a couple key features:
- No drafts when rolling around
- center zip...
Got the new hooks installed. Badass. Paul, perhaps you should consider selling a little "upgrade kit": 2 S-Biner hooks, 2 split rings, and 2 small cord locks. The rest can be salvaged from the...
I received the hooks! They got here fast. I'll be installing them tonight.
Thanks Paul!
You're a good man Charlie Brown! Thanks :D
I have an older, Mitten Hook, Zeppelin. I got my girlfriend a nice black/pink 7/8 850 Zeppelin for XMas this year and it had some really awesome, really easy, hooks on the suspension!
What are...
Thanks for all the comments!
I took the Mobile Mummy out this weekend. While it was way to warm to evaluate it's temp rating the center zip made using it in a hammock much easier than a side-zip....
Excellent point. It is easy to get carried away on these meaningless nit-pick arguments.
Also, as I understand it, the "comfort level" of 27 F is for women and the "lower limit" of 16 is for men. If you look at a bag like this one (random selection at REI site) you will see that it is...
I roll around a lot when I sleep. I've only used a DIY TQ made from a RAB bag. I've always had problems letting in cold air as I rolled from one side to the other and so I've become hesitant about...
Thanks for the thoughtful reply BillyBob.
It is, obviously, getting warm out. However, I am eager to try it pea-pod style during the cold weather.
Also, I've never used a bag/coat or TQ/coat...
If anyone is curious (since we are often calibrated to TQ weights) I could only find 2 sleeping bags (at the REI site) that were lighter than the Mobile Mummy 3-season that had a similar temp rating....
I hadn't even thought of trying it Pea Pod style since my primary backpacking hammock is a WBBB. Also I have a nice UGQ UQ so you don't have to sell me on that ;P You're right for a sleeping bag it...
Ya, it's always tough to "try out" things like TQ's since they are often made to order, costly, can't really return them. But ya, you're right, gotta figure out what works!
It is normally in "sleeping bag mode". The feet out setup is the secondary (and is a bit goofy looking from the pics hehe).
You are right. I made a TQ from a RAB bag once and it didn't work...
Pretty rude. I haven't been to the hammockforums in a few months but I don't remember it being so hostile here. I am a backpacker but not a gram counter. Thanks for the constructive comments....
Hey all,
I decided to take advantage of the REI 20% coupon and stumbled across the Sierra Designs Mobile Mummy. It's a Mummy Bag that has a top center zip, arm holes and a legs hole so you can...
Haha ya, we were joking about taking her out while stumbling to the bathroom at night ;)

Actually she's ok with it. The sad part is this wasn't totally for fun. I have a bad back and I tweaked it the other day. The only comfortable place for me to be is in my hammock! It gets stiff...
How many of YOU can hang your hammock in the Master Bedroom of your house! ;)
I've never been to a GA hang (or any hang!) but I'm interested. Busy on the weekend of the 29th.
Subscribing to this thread.

I have a silver whoopie at the head end and black whoopie at the foot end. Super easy when you have 2 WBBB's (1 for the GF).
