Im new to the Spokane Washington area. Just wondering if there's any hangers near by. Id like to get with someone whos into backpacking and hanging in general.
I really wanna get a good under quilt. I have a Clark NX 250. What are some thoughts on the Z liner? Do you have any other ideas for other options? I don't mind diy if I can get got direction.
Well I might be a weirdo. The very first time I hammock camped was on our mission trip in Mexico. I braved my very first time sleeping in my hammock, setting it up at night among a hundred other...
Dude just go on Amazon and a set off whoopis. I was very happy with the Ines I got. They were reading to got. I don't have to worry if I'd made it right or get the set to thread it. It ended up...
I use a hammock for a primary bed currently. I just went down and grabbed an ENO from REI start with and feel relatively satisfied. However after doing some reading on here I'm wondering if there...
I use a knee pillow under my legs. Sleep diagonally for most instances but find a straight position perfect for allergies. I sleep in a hammock every night. My back has never been better! It is so...
For me it depends on WHAT I'm changing. I've figured out a good way of half way taking off my pant/underwear as I sit down in my hammock. Then I can finish the job in my hammock and I just reverse...
I love my Clark 250!!! I use it out in the dessert for weeks at a time in mexico on mission trips and high in the mountains of the Northwest in the snow. So versatile. I love my mummy bag in it. Im...
Hey was just looking at my under quilt options for my NX 250. How is the Clark Z liner? And if not that, has anyone used other quilts under the Clark? Have been thinking if doing a DIY thing too. Is...
I use a couple of 1" poplar dowels. They're great! Light weight strong and I won't piss myself if l loose them in the woods. I wrap my tree straps around them so everything is right there.
Step 1 get dog, Step 2 get Wally World cheap ground tarp, Step 3 put tarp dog and pack under hammock, Step 4 sleep easy knowing dog is guarding pack from critters.
Man I love love love my Clark Jungle Hammock. Made by a veteran in Salt Lake, can't get more american than that!!! They seem spendy at first look but compared to what you get with your purchase its...
Totally building one of these things!!! http://www.ourlifeoutside.com/2013/06/13/solo-eno-hammock-raft/
Hey ya, just went out in the Hell's Canyon area with some ground dwellers. I saw lot of places for me to hang and lots of places for them to sproll in the dirt. Precious few spots together though....
I just put most of my stuff right below me. I do leave my stove out to lean over and make breakfast in bed :) here the stove I use. It works great!!!
...
Well one thing that's helps me out a good cook stove. Check this one out. I got it and it worked great and it for a good cause....
I can't say anything about these hammocks you mentioned. And honestly that concerns me. I don't wanna sound arrogant but I've looked at pretty much everything worth getting. My advice, look at the...
Got sick of the "great hike, sucky night sleep" thing. I had the idea what if there was a tent that was a hammock too. Thought I had an original idea for once. I had plans all drawn up and talked to...
Hang in there buddy ( all puns intended). It took me three times to figure things out the first few times. There are threads on here that show you how to make an under quilt out of an old sleeping...
I just cut up an old sleeping bag and made my own pillows to go in the pockets. Just made them a bit wider than the pockets so they were tight. They are down so they pack real small in there own...
Yes yes yes, you can do a diagonal lay. I have the nx250. The thing with the Clark is that they don't have as saggy of a lay as others. I lay straight in mine and don't worry bout the diagonal....
Just a little one nighter on the Snake River. Came off the the Cow Creek trail onto the snake and... ru row not a tree in sight!! Walked up around the corner and there it was (angels singing) there...
Love my Clark!!! Its huge inside, no should squeeze at all.And though alotta people wine about the price if you put it up to a HH comparable package with tarp and everything its actually cheaper.
Looks like a fun trip. Wish I had more of y'all up in oregon. We have some great places to go up here but so far everyone just thinks I'm a crazy hippy for sleeping up in the air. I'll get them...
I settled on using nylon webbing for my primary suspension. Its strong light and cheap!
I know you said you are on a budget but dude if you can get your hands on one they are seriously nice and great for us bigguns. They are tested to over 700 pounds too. I've got lots of room in my...
When ever I'd go backpacking I pretty much just figured there would be a beautifully hike followed by a miserable night's sleep. I also do mission trips in Mexico where we camp. I don't care what...
I took a chance taking my new hammock on my mission trip where I wasn't positive I could set it up. Just before I left I through my back out really bad. It was very difficult to even get down on the...
The concept behind the Clark Jungle Hammock is that the tent is the hammock. The tarp it just for extra protection.
Anyone have any suggestion on how I might spike out a bipod hammock stand in deep loose sand?
"Hey guys, guess what I just saw. It was some big goober hanging by a tree right at biting hieghth... No seriously... just hanging there ready to eat."
Attached are some pics of an alternate way to hang my Clark nx 250. Its one tree and a fallen log. I will be heading down to a mission trip in Mexico and I'm determined to not sleep in the sand!...
Well having it staked by guy wires makes the counter wait thing sorta pointless. If you are going to do that you might as well make a quicky bipod with a couple two bys and a wing nut. That's what...
I'm very very new to this... As in I just got my Clark NX 250 and pissed off the wife by setting it up in the living room. I got it primarily to use on my mission trips in Mexico. Our base camp down...
