The SUL suspension I use is a minimimal hugger built with 1" Dyneema strap. of roughly 5' with dynaglide whoopies and soft shackles.
I like this idea!
That's awesome! 12 toggles for 8 bucks? What!!! I'm buying.
That's enough for Ridgeline and all the guy line tie outs for 2 tarps.
I like the anchor.
This is just a prototype but it works. Pics at bottom
I drilled 2 holes in a carpenters pencil. Line goes in and around the center of toggle, into the other hole and out the other side creating...
Gonna start a new post.
I set it up and the skins just looked all jammed up. I like the double end skin setup. I was looking on Dutches site and I couldn't make up my mind on hardware cause I wasn't sure if I wanted...
Why not the UHWMPE? 1.72oz vs spider poly 4.55 oz
How is one to use tarp skins with a continuous Ridgeline? Seems like only one skin would work. Any pics of it working?
Anyone ever make dog bones out of dyneema webbing? Lighter than amsteel just not sure how they hold up to Dutch bridge ends hardware.
And is it possible to use a dyneema loop instead of amsteel CL? ...
Nah scratch that. 25' Myers tech dyneema for 2 12 footers with a j-bend.

I'm getting rid of my whoopies now that I'm using my grizz bridge.
Gonna use my 6' straps connected to something like spider line cause i can't find spider line. Just want to Beckett hitch to a...
Will the thunderfly work with grizzbridge style hammock without rubbing?
I have a 3 season down top quilt and a 3 season synthetic top quilt. What one should I put on top when I layer them?
I get my shock cord from supply captain too, everything else diygearsupply.
And a happy new year!

Anyone driving through Binghamton? I can pitch in for gas.
I'm down for it after the holidays, lemme know. FLT maybe?
Thanks everybody:D
I'll post up how to make the down rectangular box piece when I get my camera back. Basically its a modified rectangular stuff sack with a 1/2" allowance around the edge so you...
But then my feet would be greasy and I'd have to diy a grease catcher.:scared:
Thanks for all the positive replies everyone.
Last year I made a winter topquilt and my feet were usually cold, unless I stuffed the footbox with my down sweater.

Thanks for the pics.
Any pics of the suspension?
You can even sleep on rocks!
+2 on the night owl. You get whoopies, tree straps, and adjustable stretch sides.
Or you can DIY the same thing for less, but add the time in making it and you only save a little.
I like the Knotty method with stretch side mod, cause you can take up the slack with the side shock cords.
Thanks Callahan!
The cat cut is 6.5" at the widest part of the curve.
Anytime. Let me know how it works out for you.
You can shift the down to where you need extra performance. :D
I tried 18" from ridgeline 5' centered but they were too high, I ended up with 22" away from ridgeline.
But, your tarp dimensions are smaller so maybe 18" might work for you.
You'll get cold spots with a karo step underquilt, the down will shift a lot more than longitudinal baffles. Karo step is most often used in top quilts.
If you decide to to go with the...
Can we see a pic?
Back in 2000 I got into the RayWay cult following and drank most of the cool-aid but I disliked ground dwelling with a passion.
So, I bought a $30 double layer olive drab hammock from sportsmans...
I can guess at the vendor, and if so, olive brown is not down proof, but coyote brown is.
I'd see a doctor.
Is the color brown or coyote brown?
+1 on where it came from.
If you have the sewing skills and you can get your hands on materials for a good price, then DIY will save you cash.
Its a hobby for me and I get satisfaction from using my homemade gear. Another...
Worked great for me, Thanks Knotty!
Happened to me once when I used a metal bobbin stead of a clear plastic one.
Also it happened when I didnt thread the machine right.
Whats the outside chamber width inner/outer fabric for?
ok I get it. Wont be trying all that falling out of a tree business.:D
Anyone use it for whoopies? Scott doesn't recommend it for suspensions but I still wonder if anyone has tried.
I weigh 165 pounds.
topquilt or underquilt?
Longer doors would close the gap, hanging it higher will close the gap too.
Thanks. After using it a bit, I dont need it wider. Make one they are quite easy to make.
]Lol. I'll bring a stand.
I bet I could, summer quilts though.:D
