I'm pretty sure we're gonna get there early on Friday as well. We don't like eating up half a day on Saturday just driving!

Me and my German lover will be there! Obviously :)

I think my boyfriend Ben will be there too. I finally got him shopping on Dutch's site to pick up some lightweight gear!
Of course,...
I used mine outside last night after the rain. It got down to 50º with almost 100% humidity. I was toasty warm on top and just wore an everyday thermal top, a pair of shorts and no socks - and I...
I'd love one myself! Anyone willing to scoop up a black or brown one for me? ;)
The knee is feeling much better -- of course the terrain here in the city is a LOT more forgiving! :)
The apps I was using are:

Here's my pack load out video - hope it helps!

No problem. I gotcha covered.
Honestly, I don't. I do keep a semi updated spreadsheet, but what I can do is make gear video for that trip. I'm sure there will be more people that would be curious!
Yeah, I think so too. With every step it felt like a knee being stabbed into my knee. I was just disappointed that I didn't make it all the way. Other than that, I had a great time!
Here's the trip report - https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php/111286-VIDEO-Red-River-Gorge-Koomer-Ridge-To-Hell-s-Kitchen?p=1471560#post1471560
On this episode we squeeze in a couple of days hiking in Red River Gorge!
Day 1 we do some day hiking down to Grey's Arch and hike on over to Daniel Boone's Hut.
Day 2 we start a Koomer...
Thanks Jack! I found it earlier!
We have no idea where that is. Map?
We'll be in Hell's Kitchen on Saturday night by creation falls.
He should definitely protect his reputation. And failures are a mathematical certainty with anything. It's a calculated risk for me.
We take a weekend hiking trip out to the Charles C. Deam Wilderness and hammock camp on Lake Moroe where we do some relaxing, some fishing and a little sun bathing!

These are the little frays that seem to have appeared since I started using these leads.

And this is where my speed hooks were attached on my trip this past weekend.

I'm gonna toss my vote to Sheltowee. I have both seen and laid in a Sheltowee. I've heard nothing but good things from the other vendors but for the price of both a hammock and an integrated under...
I'm still using Speed Hooks 1.0 without issue. Only problem I have is I should have bought 2 sets [emoji41]
With proper sag, your hammock will be 17% shorter than your tarp's ridge line.
Alex is the man. Been on a couple of hikes with him so far! And he sews a mean bug net topper! The Dutchman lives!
I had an awesome time! I have really enjoyed myself this weekend!
See ya at the next one! [emoji41]
Yep. We are going up to Hoosier national Forest. You should totally go!
That's cool. So are you planning to be out this weekend with us?
You aren't going??
We are heading out on Friday to get in a few extra miles. Probably gonna do the the out and back on the Peninsula Trail and make camp somewhere near the shore for the evening.
We'll be there! Word up!
We're in! Fo who like a mofo!
Word up! I'll be in your order box for a custom job then :)
Well, I was going to buy one from you! :)
I'm not that worried about bugs this trip. Just wanted to see what your thoughts were on your currant models of topper.
What's the lead time on doing...
Hey Alex! What are the chances your bug net topper will fit on a 12' hammock? I was gonna make one DIY but I figured I'd ask you first.
Cool. I'll bring one of my spares.
Are you getting there Thursday or Friday?
Yup. Cookie sent me a message saying you might need one. How long of a hammock are you going to be staying in? By the way what did you order?
Did you get your tarp issue sorted, Jackie?
Haha! I looked at this post and immediately thought - "BACHELOR!"
I was wrong :)
Holy crap! You are a wealth of insulation information but I've gotta grab an aspirin and a nap now ;)
I wasn't trying to be an ***. But yes the issue has been talked about ad nauseam. It's been a long held misconception that down doesn't perform in humid climates. I don't know if the disinformation...
This is an old debate. Hashed out so many times I can't count.
The modern fabrics and treated down make this a non-issue. I've had my down in 95% humidity while it was raining in the bottoms of...
Lucky! I was hoping for colder but for Kentucky, my rig will be perfect 99% of the time. It just doesn't usually get that cold around here. But I'm still very happy I went with the 0 * Incubator.
+1
Warmth doesn't come from clothing, tarps, quilts etc. All those things do is prevent air from circulating so your body can heat the still air inside your shirts, jacket sleeping bag, etc. The...
Never used either of them, but the quality coming out of the Hammecks - I'd buy the Envy-S right now if I were in the market for a new rig.
Best hammock heat you'll ever find - http://bit.ly/epicawaterbottle
Yup. I surely did. Any chance to beat my record. Last night was probably the last of the season. So I figured I'd better squeeze it in while I could.
I knocked out a -5º night last night. Roast toasty. It's all in experience, my friend. (And a sh!t ton of expensive gear, lol)

Well, it wasn't as low as I was hoping for but I'll take it anyhow :)
Hope everyone else busted some personal best records out there last night!

This is what I'm gonna be testing in tonight. This will be another personal best for me if I can make it :)

Hello from the Derby City! :)
Tentatively, it's a go for us as well!
Jackie! Welcome to the addiction! :)
