Nevermind - I just found it :)

I have a bunch of 'made by' tags that a friend gave me - never thought of really using them until reading your post Red. Hope you get back hanging soon.
Nice job. What are the chances of getting the pattern?
I concur. My winter bag is right zip, but my summer bags are left zip, and my hammock of choice is a left zip WBBB. Even when I am using the summer bags, they tend to bunch up under me before I get...
Huh - did I miss something? Who do you work for - the gov't
I didn't like the tulle when I used it. I found that it tore too easily, especially if there was any tension on any unreinforced areas.
As a scoutmaster myself, I chuckled reading this. My scouts idea of cooking over a fire (or just having a fire) requires flames at least 2' high, and usually with a long 'stir' stick that they can...
So think of it as a free pass weekend - park outside the gate and hike in, no entrance fees :D
Thanks Dutch. I can't wait to try them out. I'll post photos.
I hang mine from the same tree I secure the head end of my hammock/tarp to. Both my pack and day-pack have loops at the top to hang from small branches, otherwise I run an extra length of the...
Don't care what they say - I'll always carry a Gatorade bottle and be warm all night long ;)
I do a '100 below' patch for the scouts - but have to say we usually can't do it in less then 3 trips (my lowest is -12F). Congrats. Looks like a great trip.
We had a fantastic weekend. I was the only one hanging,

Yep. This is what I was looking for. Mine arrived this weekend (it was waiting for me at home when I got back) - it's already been added to my pack for the next trip.
Thanks.
Just got back from prepping my own campsite for a scout campout later this month, too. I suspect that prepping is more time consuming here in the NorthEast, but I had a blast just the same with all...
Yes, that would work great. Thanks.
A friend has this tree hugger system that his in-laws gave him with hooks on it that he wraps around a tree and uses to hang gear onto. He said he saw it at LLBean, but I've looked and they day it...
As soon as the snow stops, I'm headed up into the Whites of NH. We're supposed to get 18-20 (4 already on the ground). I got some gear (snow shoes and a tarp) for Christmas and have a new stove I...
I'd be more inclined to think you are compressing the UQ loft a bit because of the additional sag in the 1.1. dbl. Can you hang the UQ lower so that it doesn't compress but still stays tight on the...
So how did it compare? Hope she does read or lurk here:D
Check out the thread on cattail UQs (Can't quite quit the CATQUILT) - winter camping is the absolute best IMO - shame to miss out for only ~$20.
I think part of the weight is due to the density which has already been stated as fairly dense in some places. I've got over a hundred of these sitting my garage waiting for me to get around to this...
hammocks (dry) - stored in stuff sack - one in each pack and one under the rear bench of my pickup just in case
tarps (dry) - stored in stuff sacks - one with each hammock
UQ (down) - hung...
Welcome - from another NE hanger
I haven't slept in one, but I was in the southwest for a family reunion last month and saw a hammock tied to a boulder at one end and a pole on the other. I think it must have taken a bit longer...
I went the same (HH won) until I laid in a WBBB. In anycase, they all provide good hangs, I just favor the WBBB now for the interior space.
That's because all the WBBB users are hanging and haven't seen the post :D
Add one recommendation for the WBBB. I'm trying to get ready to pull the trigger on a second since my camping buddies...
Interesting idea. I'd be interested in seeing how it works. The one thing I'd worry about is how you could adjust it to 'loosen' the quilt to regulate the temp.
Send pics.
We decided long ago (when my kids were first learning to count) that there should only be 4 candles on your 40th birthday cake (4 + 0). It's been a great family tradition ever since - sort of a...
At least with my setup, the straps want to lie flat (horizontal) which makes the rings horizontal as well. This allows the water to run along them and continue down the hammock. I have drip...
Alas - the story of my life - at least I'm on the right train :D
I just got back from a campout this past weekend and discovered a new approach to reduce the problems I've had with rain running down my straps and getting the ends of my hammock/UQ wet....
Ditto! I wear them all the time (under my hiking/camping pants) just for the warmth. This year did 4* without ever getting cold legs (and I'm a warm sleeper).
Great vid - I like the offset toggles - they'll be my next alteration project now.
Thanks again!!!!
I've got a double for my 235#, but I think the biggest value for my double 1.7. is that the skeeters don't nail my butt through the single 1.7 any more. :scared:

Next time you are in a hospital (hopefully just visiting someone) snag one of the plastic disposable urine bed-pans bottles. They work great and come in varieties customized for male or female use. ...
They were both excited about hanging at the campout this week!
LOL
Same problem with my gear collection, but not limited to camo! :D
Sorry JS, I read the post about using cattails late in the season and think I only just got enough for my own quilt. I'd also be happy to collect some next season if you're still interested - send...
Hey now - if our wives start reading the forum, you're giving away all of our secrets
You'll have lots of company I suspect :D
OK I've been watching the UQ discussions, comparisons and stuff trying to decide how to make my UQ - finally figured it out
PM JRB with an order :D
I also tend to tie mine just below the hammock suspension. But it varies depending on the distance between the trees.
In order to use the same tie-off location and achieve the same height...
That's a great idea:cool: Thanks - I have some other ripstop and lots of cattails. I feel a full length UQ in the future:)
No, I'll make something out of it. I don't think it is strong enough for a tarp but I may try anyway (or a UQ). Just wanted to pass on what I found out.
I received some of the $3/yd silnylon from Noah Lamport. It is lighter then I was expecting for what I wanted to do, so now I'm wondering if an UQ might be a good use of this stuff?
I have read...
OK, so I ordered some of the $3/yd 30 denier (1.3 oz ???) silnylon from Noah Lamport. It arrived, but the quality is more like the plastic stuff that disposable ponchos are made of. I was planning...
I had 3 in hammocks this month (only 2 tents). We've done several things.
First, using my hammock (or my spares) on all of our campout has provided an example that they can see. More importantly...
The bag portion is similar to the Nunatak top cover systems (http://www.nunatakusa.com). I don't own one but have used my bag in a similar fashion. I like the built-in hood feature here.
These are too cool!
