We started Saturday morning on Red Bridge, and did the North Country Side first. Saturday night we stayed at Slage Creek right off the trail past campsite 7. Not sure how we missed you.
It did...
Still not sure if I'll be going. If I do go, I need to pick up some elephants from Patrick. Ended up on the ground Saturday night when I was hiking the Manistee...
It looks like it might just be me going. I'll try to pack light :D.
I'd even pitch in on the gas money.
Does anyone take 131 through Grand Rapids on their way through? I live just South of there.
I might be able to do this one. I'll let you know as it gets closer.
He may show up with me. Not sure yet...
Won't be making it this Thursday. But next weekend might be looking good...
Look luck finding trees amongst all the shrubs....
Use a weather rock. Those things are rather accurate...
Another way to do the radius corner to 3" if you don't have the tubing. Grab a ruler and place it where it is 3" across. Mark it at 1.5", and set your compass to 1.5". Then use your compass to make...
Ha I get it! Took me a few reads though....
Are you running zing it up both sides of the hammock. What does that accomplish?
I had this problem as well. Try lengthening your ridge line.
I agree with Breck. You may want to try loosening up your Ridge Line a little.
Use 1.1 nylon ripstop. Does not have to be coated or pregnated with silicone.
I prefer the CRL with this tarp, because I find it much easier to adjust the tarp once the ridge line is up. All I have to do is slide a few prusik knots around.
Yes, it is purely preference and...

You will have to do a little sewing though.
30' for me...
Agreed, the doors do overlap nicely. I was thinking about doing zippers or velcro but decided against it, because of the overlap.
Ordered mine a little over a week ago, and did the modification for the asymmetrical set up. Was my first attempt at sewing....
Used it over the weekend at local hang. I wanted to see what it was...
Depending on how many people are going I have a 2 liter Platypus gravity filter. I would be happy to take that along.
That makes sense. I picked up some ripstop yesterday to reinforce some tie outs on my tarp. I probably won't need to seal those, however the process that watercrafter did had me curious. Thanks for...
What did you use to seal the tarps?
Agreed... I don't mind rain during the night. I just prefer it being dry during the day.
What is your rock telling you currently?
My question was referring to the fact that each forecast is...
I am looking forward to this trip coming up. Just got my Guide Gear Tarp on Friday and plan on sewing the extra loops tomorrow. Same weather conditions for me as well. Do you guys use a specific...
What is the lowest temp you've been in with that setup and remained comfortable?
I can get some Oberon... These outings don't turn into drunken brawls do they?
What will it take to get 2 sets of suspension? I'm trying to get my father in-law to go.
How many miles are we trekking? Preference on beer?
I've been seriously thinking about making them myself. I am not afraid to get my hands dirty, but not real sure where to start.
I just starting hanging last summer. Been watching you guys on here for about a year now. Seen Shug's videos, and a few others. I figured its time to chime in.
Does anyone know who has the best...
