Welcome to HF and you will love the WBBB!
Welcome to HF Dave! As Rain Man and others have said, there are quite a few of us hangers here in the Nashville/Middle Tennessee area. Hope to see you at the WB/HF get together in February or one of...
+1 on this....
I have the 1 inch straps, and I weighed in at 280lbs at first when I got into hammocking.... The straps held up just fine for me...
One of the things that I do to start the weekend away from work is I hang my hammock kit up from a couple of trees I had topped out this year in the back yard... Here's some early pictures of the...
WBBB dbl 1.7
Speer Snugfit UQ
Speer TopQuilt III
MacCat Deluxe tarp
If it goes down to 20, I do the following:
Change out the MacCat tarp with a Speer Winter Tarp... This gets me down to...
Congratulations on the accomplishment Red Hat! I remember seeing you when you came through Nashville this year at the WB dinner and the slide show afterward at REI. Certainly was a walk of faith!
...
Thank you RainMan for thinking of me... Left you a reply over at WB, but to make it official, put me down for me and +1....
See you all there @6:30!
First of all, welcome back home!
Secondly, I can't make Thursday nights due to school for another 12 weeks.. But I can make just about any other night!
Randy
The wind up here this past weekend was around 5 mph at a minimum. Friday night it was running about 15 mph. Saturday and Sunday nights were the 5mph nights. Last night it was about 8mph.
As...
BillyBob, I was hanging out behind my house... My neighbor has 300 acres and lets me hang out in it when I want to except during deer season.
Globetruck, I think you've hit the nail on the head...
I've been hanging out at nighttime since Friday evening.... Temps have been down in the 50s most of the time, but got down to 43 Saturday night/Sunday morning. Humidity has been in the 50% range. Had...

Of course!
Opie,
I was just about to place an order for the All in One system from you and noticed this as well. It sounds like the problem is an overly successful product line.
As someone that is working...
Now don't forget, I made it to the Nashville Backpackers Meetup AND the WB dinner this year.... And would love to make more of them but schoolwork and the regular job are interfering with the social...

Well, sorry I missed this... Had CMT Music Awards, CMA Music Festival, and school....
Hope you're doing fine in Washington Shadowmoss!
Randy
If you are rarely below 30 degrees, then the PeaPod is probably too much... Personally, I use a Speer SnugFit as my main UQ. It and the Speer TQ have kept me toasty down to 8 degrees. For anything...
I'm 6'6". 247 lbs..... I fit very nicely in my WBBB. I actually fit better in it than the HH Explorer Deluxe that I still have as well...
Randy
Great report and great music selection.
Randy
I can only stand this so long... PM Sent
I'm 6'6", 247 lbs and I have a double 1.7... When I ordered it from Brandon I weighed in at 300 lbs, and it was very comfortable even at that weight. Now I'm lighter, but really do appreciate the...
Don't be posting my picture up here! the site will go down!
Randy
So I made it through the night, with my outside thermometer registering 8 degrees. However, I had to change out the synthetic shirt with my Capilene 3 long sleeve shirt. Everything else stayed the...
Have 6 inches of snow on the ground here in Middle TN with about 1/2 inch of ice under that. Assembled the following kit up this morning for sleep test tonight:
Speer Winter Tarp
AHE Bear Burrito...
I've got the MacCat Deluxe in SpinnUL AND the SWT. I use the Deluxe in 3 seasons and carry the SWT in the winter. If I had to do it at this point, I would recommend the MacCat Deluxe with the...
I plan on being there unless school gets in the way....
First of all, welcome to Hammock Forums! You have found the best place to feed your addiction.... I mean your new hobby!!!:D
I also echo what Cannibal said in the first post. Go ahead and get a...
Sorry for being so late in posting this, but today was the first day back at work.
Using the same sleeping system as the previous test, I added the AHE Bear Burrito Oven topcover. I must say...
HEre's my report from last night...

For...

White House TN here.... And my wife thought I was the only crazy person to hang out in weather like this.... Here's my game plan... SnugFit under the WBBB dbl 1.7, BA Insulated Air Core between the...
Santa brought me a BBO, a Speer TopQuilt and 100' of the Speer No Tangle line. Tried the BBO out over Christmas down in Mississippi, and the TopQuilt arrived yesterday. Will be trying that out in...
Just received my TopQuilt III from Ed, and I must say that it is top of the line like the SWT and SnugFit.
Gonna be heading up to Indiana over the New Year holiday to see the other side of the...
As the owner of a HH Deluxe Explorer and a WBBB dbl 1.7, I much prefer the Blackbird. Suffice it to say that Brandon spent a lot of time working out the details such as the shelf, the locations of...
Paul,
Got the BBO yesterday in the mail... First of all, great turnaround time on this item!
The quality of the workmanship on the BBO is wonderful. You have done an excellent job here.
Randy
Mine too.... Placed an order for the TopQuilt... With that, my 25 degree bag, the SnugFit and the SWT, I should be VERY toasty!!!
Thanks much Ed!!!
Randy
Must resist... must resist.... :-)
I've had mine down to 21 degrees... Had a 25 degree bag for a TQ, and a short sleeve Tshirt and zipoffs with a pair of socks.... Stayed nice and toasty.......
Just ordered a BBO for my WBBB... Thanks much!
Randy
Email sent for a SWT.... Already have the SnugFit.. Look out winter hammocking, here I come!:D:D:D
Randy
I agree... I've got a SnugFit under my dbl 1.7 WBBB and have been very toasty down to 24 degrees in it... And it is a full length UQ and my 6'6" body doesn't get cold at all!
Randy
I hang my Petzl lamp from the ridgeline, hang a JGH/PC lengthwise under the hammock with it's own suspension cables for the pack and shoes, and hang my trekking poles from the gear hammock cables......
Shadowmoss,
Hate to miss seeing you when you are in Nashville.... Unfortunately I'm going to be in Times Square on the 22nd - 25th, coming home for a few days, and going back on the 30th thru the...
I lay much flatter in my WBBB than my HH Deluxe Explorer....
Don't recall the price, but the Deluxe in Spinn with stuff sack weighs in at 9.4 oz on my scale....
I have a JRB Gear Hammock that I hang under the WBBB and tarp. It also functions as a rain cover for the pack.
Randy
I would also purchase a Spinn Superfly as well!!!
Does it count if when you launch your browser, the home page is set to HF?
Now that sounds like a good idea! I for one would love to attend a hangout in the beautiful area around Roan Mountain! Heck, I was so desperate to hang out that I've been hanging out in my backyard...
