That's a chain repair link. You can get them at the hardware store. Normal use would be to squeeze in a vise to put the pin through the eye, and then brad the end of the pin.

Sunshine Point in Linville Gorge yesterday afternoon. Shortoff...
Bottom side of the RamCharger looked ok. Keep an eye on that rear U joint though.
I'm glad I've grown out of running around on Saturday night. Now I can sit here and watch the Hickery Brothers (and ghost) over and over. Thankee for the quality entertainment.
Two lucky fellers, but I'm sure you both know that!
Mountain Magnolia.
I was not aware that was a Hickery stump!
Thanks for that look into your trip Shug. Sure was good to see you and Hicks over the weekend too. Looking forward to whatever else that little camera captured!

Here's an encounter back in June at the Gorge. Kicked grit at this one for a while to get him out of the road and it still didn't get agitated until it started back for the road and I tried to turn...
Have a good time Shug, and check the mailbox when you get home. Sent you a package yesterday. Enjoy!
Hi Paul.
I no longer own a Hennessy, and don't really remember the orientation of the melted through holes, but I'm pretty sure they are side to side. That particular wrapping technique of the...
Hi Luke. I probably started with 12 - 14 feet per end. That would make your slings in the neighborhood of 6 feet depending on length of loops, burys and attaching to the hammock.
Ken
I'm still here Shug, just don't have a lot to say. Not sure if we're friends forum-wise or not, but we are in the real world!
Ken
Early version of TDS. Note the tripods.

Great series Fronkey. I really enjoyed them all. Kaleb is going to make a great Marine!
Ken
Great job Jeremy. Glad you made it back to camp!
jealous, very jealous!!
You folks have a great time. I'll be at work. Might get to the gorge on Sunday.
Ken
I have a piece outside the door here that measures a cat hair under 1.25 ID. Don't have a mic that will split a cat hair.
Sorry, that's not my video. I do like the system though. I'm sure BearChaser can answer your questions if you reply in that thread. I hope to try that someday myself.
Ken
Here you go!

Sorry to hear that Tim.
If that was walmart fabric, they'll probably refund your money!:lol::lol:
That was a great report Cookie! Made my lunch at work much nicer! Thanks.

Watched them again at breakfast this morning Jeremy. Thanks for putting those together. It was great hiking with you guys last week. And I sure wish HB could have stayed longer too.
Ken
Hackin' Hocks! Gotta love it! Thanks fellers..............
You're most welcome Deb. See ya at the Gorge!

Check out that thread Deb. It's shown well in the photos of the ElDorado.
Basically a channel on each end...

Thank ye Shug, just thank ye. I would say "awesome", but that overused word just isn't good enough.
Thanks for #2 Shug and Hickery. I have a photo of that same gnarly stump at the Shortoff Bogg. Yep CYFFH = "Can you fish from here". Nice serpent!
Wonder what's in that shrimp paste other than shrimp and paste?
I think he said more nasty to come! What a treat......
I've been using this on a dayhike hammock ever since MacEntyre posted the video. Used it yesterday during lunch at the farm. No problems whatsoever. I have probably spent 6 - 10 hours actually in...
That's MacEntyre's video. All kudos go to him!
Here's what I use with webbing only suspension.

The force failed us. I'm wondering if Jeremy's hat was camo. He thought it was on trail, but 4 of us never saw it. Probably a 4-footer wearing it now.
Great job Jeremy. Hope we can locate your "stuff"!!
I use hillbilly toggles.

Happy Birthday Running Feather!! I bet you're almost as old as I am!!
This is also hardware free depending on how you attach at the hammock.

Like that feller said in the pork brains clip "give me more"!!
Thank ya Shug!
A "google alert" on Linville Gorge caught it Shug. Good job by all you guys who were interviewed.
Ken
Good stuff MacEntyre. Thanks for the video. I hope Pria continues to carve. It is a very relaxing and creative pastime.
Ken
Great report and photos TZ. My old southern blood would probably have congealed at those temps!!!
Ken
Takes a bow....................
(had a good director)
I don't think there is ever a reason to hang a hammock tight. Stay at or very near the 30 degrees and you'll be safe and comfortable. Tight stresses the entire system.
Ooops, Grizz and I...
Thanks TZ. It sure was great to get out there and hike with you and the others. It can be a treacherous area, but one that is hard to stay away from...
Thanks Shug! You a "fine feller" too, and "I like the way you talk!"
EDIT to say I should have said: "I like all the ways you talk!"
Ken
Nice MrTiles! Really nice. I'm glad you guys had a good trip. Thanks for the report and photos. Love that place!!
Ken
Will do HB! You would love that one too. Different, but still rugged.
Thanks Michael. TZ is an impressive person all the way around. Wish I could handle myself in the woods more like him. ...
