I'm planning on hiking Lower Cammerer / Gabes Mt / OST the second week of January. Then the last part of the month finish the Lakeshore trails.

I hiked the Low Gap trail in October and camped on a ridge that was a great site.

No I didn't clean it. It's just gonna air out as I use it. Right now it's sitting in a tote with my UQ. So I guess essentially it's gonna stink above and below. Oh well.

I chose this fabric because I've read it's pretty soft. I got the heavy fabric because I'm a BIG guy. It shipped yesterday, so I know what I'll be doing Christmas eve, sorry kids.

Welcome from a fellow hoosier hanger. I like the deam area also and camp there a few times a year. Morgan Monroe has some good hanging areas and isn't too far from Plainfield.

My HG20 has the same smell. Funny because I commented to the wife that it smells like an old wet dog. Doesn't really bother me either. I just hope it doesn't attract a hungry bear.

I would think there will be snow. Last year we had snow starting on halloween all the way thru the end of march. I personally like hiking it when there is snow!

I got the bags and they are great. Silnylon. I also ordered a snakeskin.

I'm looking at this same kit to make a summer tarp. I wonder how the silpoly compares to the silnylon of the superfly.

I use a giant piece of tyvec if the ground is wet, otherwise nothing.

Wow! -19, that's cooooold buddy. I did 23 the other night and had it buttoned down tight. It was windy, but warm. With little to no wind I would be in porch mode.

I also use separate lines with no hardware. Fast, easy, and light. I just recently started using Dutch's pole mod so I may start to experiment with a CRL above the tarp to support the poles.

I hiked LowGap last week and got caught up in the reroute. I might be interested in joining when you hike the TT.

Curious about this myself. Did you get any additional information? 16 miles in a day doesn't leave much time for sightseeing. At least there isn't much elevation change.

The standard webbing/buckles are more than adequate. I've never had any issues with mine.

Budget? I'd like to stay in SPs or Natl Parks on the road.
