That is one BEAST of a tarp! Awesome job! I may not need one that big, but I sure want one. ;-)
~Leif
Among my many hammocks, I have the King sized TTTM hammock. It's so wide that if I want to "Close it up" I can pull both sides over the ridgeline and create a tent like situation. The hammock is...
Woohoo! I love your first two bridge skins, but this one is awesome! Put me down for one as well.
Amazing work! ...I'm so jealous. :-/
~Leif
NW Hanger here. :-)
Will go camping any time, anywhere.

I just subscribed to this thread as well. We need to get something together sooner than later guys!! I's gots new gear to try out... ;-)
Am I the only one who thinks that this might be a pack for the minimalist? Mostly waterproof (except for the top), one big pocket with some side pockets...
How much does it weigh? I couldn't find...
I wonder how this hammock would hang if it was full size... Do you think it would be comfortable? Maybe a bridge/gathered end combo.
Just wonderin'
~Leifo
Just lettin' you know... I'm not sniffing Shug. *whisper voice (I heard he's somewhat smelly on the trail)*
You go right ahead. :-)
~Leifo
Darn it! Now we have two kids to keep track of... Headrush and Shug! I think they might be in cahoots with each other. Just kiddin'...
Welcome to the forums Headrush!
True statement. I've been to a couple other forums (White Blaze and BPL) and I don't feel as much of a welcoming vibe as I do here on HF. Also... some of the arguments go a little far on those other...
Did you ever think that you would be thought of as one of the hammock gurus? I know in your performance realm doing your paid shows, you get the crowd involved, but do they stick to you like the...
True.
HF... better choice!;)
I tried, but I can only edit the post and not the poll... I guess there are more HF junkies than I thought. ;)
Good point. I guess it's the new inventions that keep the standard... Well... new.
How much time per day do you spend on the forums? I spend way to much time on the forums, and I'm wanting reassurance that I'm not too crazy...

Oh, the last post was for the tarp.
:)
So... I have $52.02 in my paypal at the moment. Would you take that? I am not trying to be stingy, this is the last of my hammock gear fund for a while.

Whenever you need me to buy stuff before you... I'll be there! ;)
As it says. I already grabbed your ion and ether jackets, but why not grab some more gear. Pm sent.
Thanks!
Pm sent.

Hey Dancer,
Happy birthday! Here is a birthday video. Goofy... but a classic. ;-)

Have a good one!
~Leif
I have the same one. Without it being modified it weighs 8 ounces.
Just passin' along information...
~Leif
Are you a Paypal guy? I'll take the Catalyst... Pm sent.
~Leif
Count me in! Welcome!

How well do you think a Molly Mac Pack (MMP) would work on a thru hike of the PCT? I am working on an lightweight setup, but I think the functionality and versatility of the MMP would be nice on a...
YAY for good times! YAY for less clothing... what? Did I say that?
~ (Goofy) Leif
Do it. Pack contents of other people always interest me. It gives me more ideas... or more things to try out. ;)
It didn't even rain! AAARRGGHH!
The hike that a couple of friends and I went on turned out to be a grueling hike with it's elevation gain and terrain, but we made it home in one piece.
The hike (...
My apartment definitely has humidity. It's a good thing I put my tarp inside. It's raining really hard now.
Maybe this might be a helpful thread to others sealing tarps.
I just ended up bringing it inside. It started sprinkling so I enlisted my grandmother to help move it in the apartment.
Now the apartment will smell like silicone. Oh well.
So, I was just asked to go on a hike tomorrow and I realized I needed my tarp (JRB 10x11) to be seam sealed. So, I ran outside, put on the sealer and now it looks like it might rain. I live in...
So, I'm in my TTTM king on the Vario hammock stand right now, and even with the truckers hitch on the webbing "Pre-flexing" the stand, there is 5" of sag and the webbing is drooping in my face.
...
He doesn't believe you? As a younger kid, I so would have had a hammock if fates allowed... :)
Yup. Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA. I'm working on a Music Composition/Religion...
So, I decided to say "I don't care what people think about me, I'm putting up my hammock". After my Nano7 was taken by my Girlfriend, I put up my TTTM King size hammock (that I bought from forum...
When hiking, I use my Hudson River Uquilt with a Sierra Sniv. Top quilt. The Nano is small as it is, and gets swallowed by the UQ. I kinda like that... but that's just me.
~Leif
Well, I use the Sierra Sniveller for my top quilt, and I use the Hudson River for my underquilt. In a couple tests, I've swapped the two and both work as a top and underquilt... the Sniveller has to...
I actually have both and love them dearly. The Sierra has the capabilities of being worn as a top under a lightweight rain jacket which replaces my down jacket.
YAY for versatility!
The...
The "Net fill" is 1 lbs. The actual weight is 3.1 lbs. I sometimes get the two confused...
~Leif
I win! :-)
Actually, I just copied Dutch. I like the idea of the webbing. Stronger and pretty puncture resistant. Maybe a little heavy, but I don't care... better than a hole in my backpack....
I believe he was talking about this idea (check attachments)...
~Leif
Living in the NW, I have 15' straps... The length sucks, but I know I can hang on any tree. The perfect trees on my college campus take up 13' of the strap.
I wish I could leave my whoopies attached to my webbing. The trees around here range from a half a foot, to 4 feet wide. Even with my long whoopies, they wouldn't be able to make up the difference......
I tried making this stand tonight... It turns out that the pipe I have and the hole saws I have aren't very compatible. First hole was too big and gave the pole too much room to move around, and the...
I'll take the TTTM King.
~Leif
I have a projector in the middle portion of my closet that shoots to the opposite wall for movies, games and watching SHUG's videos. He's too awesome to block. If I were to make a square in the...
One more question then I'll let this thread die. I bet you guys are tired of coming up with different hammock stand ideas. Inestead of using 4x4s in the corners and braces along the ceiling to keep...
I was leaning in this sort of direction.
I'm not a big fan of the hammock stands, due to the fact that I had one that fell apart pretty quick. I believe that the welds weren't as strong as they...
Also... I currently have a nano7 that I use for hiking, but it's not as comfortable as a larger hammock. I know it's been asked before, but which would give me a really flat, soft lay?
I looked...
