I've got the travel model, love it, not had any experience with condensation problems either.
After spending a night with a cold back i wouldn't even hang out without the UB. Not tried a self inflating mat yet but i would expect cold spots.
Nice one mate, i'm sure she'll be pleased with it, and if not, you have another hammock, lol
Chris, mine stretched terribly the first time i used it. Just keep tightening it up and it will eventually stop stretching mate.
There's a similar thread on bcuk called Gift in on where you offer something up, someone wants it then the recipient offers something up and so on and so forth. I've been involved in it and it...
Central UK is where i hail from. Just got back from a camp at a scout site, loads of trees to swing from there. You can you the thread on bcuk and bcl (Rough Close). My set up has the orange sheet...
Me and a buddy were saying the same thing when we were camping over the weekend, just watch you don't snag the zip in the mozzie net, lol
Well done Col M, can't go wrong with DD, got the 09 Travel one and snugpak UB and quilt, great kit and the service is second to none. Enjoy it buddy.
You too bud but we met a while ago at RC (outdoor show meet) either last year or the year before, lol.:D
Hiya Drew,
twas a good weekend bud. Cracking idea bringing your parachute for the communal area too.
That would be good Rich, thanks.
Lol, like it.
Seriously though even with my British Army artic sleeping bag my back and legs were really cold as a good breeze was blowing through...
Ahhhhh, got it now Rich, lol, i did think it was for that, i'll have to try it out at the meet end of the month:lol: thanks bud. I didn't use the shock cords last weekend just crabed the loops to...
Hi guys,
used my Snugpak a few times now when out camping and a couple of head scratchers have come to mind.
Firstly one is that i have noticed a length of shock cord running round the UB with...
Be good to hear your thoughts on it.:)
I've got the underblanket and quilt from Snugpak. First time use was back in March, underblanket was fine kept me warm, the quilt however will need some thinking on:rolleyes:, probably use my artic...
Oh yeah. :D
Thanks for the warm welcome guys. If you want some hammock/bushcraft pics you can get ya fix at Bushcraftliving.com under meetups and swift valley threads.
Hi guys,
been on the site for nearly 12 months so i though i'd better introduce myself.
I'm married and have a 5 year old son.
I work in the media for a local newspaper and have for the last...
Well hello there mate.:)
Nice review mate, i turn my hammock over so the net is underneath, i've not slept inside it yet.
The tapes will eventually stop stretching but it's worth changing them for some climbing tapes.
...
They certainly are Cannibal , my mate made some out of an insertion sack that goes in a bergen. lol I think the DD sleeves are £8 in the UK.:D
Also the new Frontline does not have the waterproof base as does the Travel one. :)
A friend who i camp with has modded his Travel to include zips both sides of the mozzie net and added his...
Go for a refund mate, Nick at DD is really helpful and will sort you out no problem. Sounds like you might have had one of the seconds they do. HTH
Andy
That's a knock off ior sure !!! I have a DD travel hammock. There are a few points which make me believe it's not a DD
The Travel has a waterproof base which can be used as a bivvi.
The...
Funny you should say about the tape stretch, my DD tapes stretched terribly till they settled down.:)
Good to see you too mate (there's a few of us on here i think). Not been into bushcraft very long but wished i had, been camping virtually all my life though, been into hammocking only for the past...
Hello Crom, i'm from the UK but in the midlands. Hammocking is hugh in the bushcraft world mate, just check out the forums on here

Well folks, spent 2 nights in the hammock over the weekend and it was great. No leaning or anything. I could have put the foot end a bit higher up but it's all part of the learning curve for me. ...
Too true my friend.:D
Yeah, left to right with the lean to the side i get in. So moving more centrally should correct this ? Why didn't i think about that before, must be that i'm new to hanging, lol. Will try it out...
Is it just me and the way i hang in my hammock (DD travel) or has anyone else experienced this because it seems to be biased to one side when i get in it and seems lobsided to me. The tapes are level...
Thanks Bud, it's Berkswell but West Orchard is close enough. :)
Andy
That's a lot of shipping costs for such a light package, did'nt realise how much extra the shipping puts on the cost. Funny though as my sister gets cd's from the US cheaper than the UK incl...
Can i be added ?
Coventry, England CV7 7DD
thanks
Get a surplus British Army 58 pattern sleeping bag. Heavy but bombproof as long as you don't get em wet. The best thing about this bag is it has a central full length zip so all you do is hop in...
Have a look at the DD Hammocks site. I got the DD travel hammock which has a bug net, a place for a pad and has a waterproof base you can use as a bivvi ! Really good value for the cash as well.
Hello Sandbag, do you come here often ? lol (only since i got into hammocking, lol)
Sandbag did a fantastic job with the last DD group buy and the speed of delivery was excellent.
the only...
The last time i was out in the woods was mid December in my tent, first night was dry and cold then it warmed up and rained most of the weekend, my tent turned itself into a waterbed so i left that...
Looks like a nice set up Neo.:)
Because the tarp i will be using is so large i will need to get some thicker ridge line as the paracord i tried it out with was too stretchy and i couldn't get...

Good idea about using two lines, one for the ridge loops and one to pull the tarp taught either end. nice one , thanks, i'll give it a go the weekend.
I think the tarp is about 3.5kg and is made out of proofed nylon. I was running the ridge line through the ridge loops, i think my tarp is based on a Tatonka tarp.
Tried my new tarp out the weekend. Trouble is i can't get the ridge line tight enough to get the tarp straight, it keeps sagging. What am i doing wrong ? I was using paracord for the ridge if that...
Good value for the cash, they are only waterproof on the base layer though so i would recomend a tarp over the top tbh. I'm getting the travel hammock on a group buy from BCuk as i'm new to tree...
