Perfect! That's what I'm gonna tell her...and then I'm gonna get one for myself. My ear bonnet has the Dutch clips and it's awesome!

So...I am a hammock hiker but seldom use a my Blackbird unless I am camping. I have a friend who wants to get hammock foe the occasion hang by the beach and with friends. She may take it camping on...
Yup, not Ocala...I came over to Kauai to visit a friend for a "couple of months". This was back in early December!
Yeh, definitely get a pair. Also, someone just informed me that they clips should be position to the side of the tree in such a way that less load it placed on them. I have done it both way and not...
I recently acquired a Canon 5D Mkii DSLR...learned that I could hack it and get better video quality from it. Since I needed a subject for a video, I decided I would do a setup video for my hammock....
Is the OHM also for sale?
Too big for me but I did a 40 mile hike with a 24# pack with these and had no issues! Felt great. I wear them exclusively.
I've paid for the BB, I'll take seconds on the superfly.
I'll take both!
Okay, I called the blackbird and THEN I hopped back on and changed this to take both. So I only get the blackbird. Thanks
Well, I jumped the gun then. I'm buying thru hike lightweight gear and really need an a UQ and 800+. Sorry! Thanks, great quilt, someone will grab it, I've got a 30 degree 800 and it is awesome!
(Retracted)
I'll take it...pending a question about it being used as an underquilt. What fill is it?
Shipping was not specified...I did not realize he was in Canada because I'm using Tapatalk App on my phone. Also, I shipped something from Hawaii to Canada insured for $30 so it couldn't have been...
I'll take the hammock. What does it come with for suspension?
I'm new to these...can you describe the difference in lefty vs righty?
Looking for both of these in like new condition and ready to go!
Sold - to Harleynemo
Bump - Someone needs this!
Second dibs on Blackbird
Hang in your home first so you learn about comfort and hanging angles...this way temperature and the outdoors is out of the equation! Then bring in all the other items and variables.
harebell - The mosquito thing was certainly a consideration of mine as well! That and the added weight capacity if I were to let a friend borrow it may be nice.
Good ole Colion!
I am tentatively planning a hike for next year. This is just the beginning of me seriously planning it so I still have a lot of reading and research to do. That said I have a few questions that are...
I think your cookset is excessive too. Even if weight is trivial, the amount of space it takes up is not. I have a Snow Peak Mini Solo set which pot holds .82 liters, which I believe is plenty for...
I'll send you his email address. I'm sure he would love to talk. They climb SRT (Single Rope Technique for non climbers) to the canopy, and they DRT (double rope technique) from there.
About three years old.
Three Season
Nope, he is not on here that I know of...he is from Florida like myself.
Hammock is Sold!
I am getting a side entry hammock and figure I will get a UQ without the bottom entry option. This has been used maybe 10 times max and it in great condition. No signs of wear at all. It has not been...
I am selling my HH Backpacker which has whoopie slings installed and ready to go. There is no damage on this hammock and it has been used gently. Bottom Entry - Velcro model. I also have a Jack R...
Err on the warm side...first time out in a hammock I was cozy and sleeping so well while it was POURING on the AT. All my friends were in the shelter and they thought I was miserable. I was not...
I too am re-evaluating my hanging, going to be trying a WB next.
Had a friend go out and Climb the redwoods last fall! Hanging up there would be CRAZY!
Once I switched my HH over to Whoopie Slings, that was the end of the tarp that came with it "working well". I was already wanting to get another Tarp anyhow but since then I have spend lots of...
Every ounce counts. It sounds like you did your research and/or learned the value of going lightweight! My AT trips (40 miles each) went like this: 55lbs, 33lbs, 23lbs...and that is about where I...
Underquilt is far more versatile. With the right underquilt, you do not really need as much of a topquilt. Get the right ones and they can connect and work as a "sleeping bag" on the ground as well!
I have decided to move way from the bottom entry system myself. I just need some versatility!
I have been wanting to stay the night up in a tree myself! I have all the climbing gear, just have not done it yet!
My experience has been that a longer one is much better in terms of keeping the ends warm. Even at my 5'7" height!
+1 for Enlightened. I have a TQ of theirs and have used it as UQ on another hammock and it did very well!
At this point it is still up in the air (pun sold separately). They are not yet set up for camping so it will likely be around Fall, as it cools down again.
I'm getting on the trail at Springer Mt to Hogpen Gap starting around 9:45 today. Should be finishing by Friday afternoon.
Where might I find said shuttle? Are there common place around for this?
I Hope I am not thread jacking but I have a suggestion for an upcoming hang:
Ocala Florida Hang + Zipline!
I made a thread here:...
My brother and I's hike has somewhat fallen apart as far as our friends joining us goes...so we are thinking of driving up there and hiking Springer Mountain to Tesnattee Gap and then hitch hiking...
Bump, any more interest?
I work at the Canyons Zipline here in Ocala and am curious how many people would be interested in doing a hang and then Zipping. This is a bit pre-mature as I have not discussed it with the owners...
I got the 10L version and just tried it. It is fairly tight, and the quilts are compressed a lot but it works fine and fits into my lower compartment. A 12 would be perfect but a 14 would work as...
Keep in mind, I am only trying to fit in a 30 degree TQ and a JRB Nest. My hammock is in a pouch on its own. I feel like the 10L bag should be adequate for both quilts. And it shoul fits in the...
Great! Thanks for the input guys.
