One thing people have noticed with that system is the bigger ropes on the larger HH work much better and don't slip. Mine is an expedition and it would wanna slip a little bit but most of the time...

Yea I'd agree with that. I've never tried colder than 45 degrees in it but it worked fine at that temperature
Hey, sorry I just realized you didn't have anything yet. I would say the supershelter vs underquilt is an interesting topic and I think there is an argument for both but one great thing is if you do...
Amazing post very informative , that ought to be in a sticky on the hennesy section. Well done billy Bob [emoji41]
Haha I'm with you that the 2qzq is the best upgrade but don't you think it's being a bit dramatic to complain about the rings making too much noise? They don't make any noise once they are on the...
I mean there are tons of great hammocks out there but I wouldn't just give up on the hennesy unless you were uncomfortable in it. It's nice ride man
Yea I'm sure it does do damage on some level but all I can say is I've been using it for 2 or 3 years on the same ropes with no damage or issues and the guy in the video said he used that method for...
One way that alot of us used to make our hennesy hammocks easier to set up was the garda hitch method like this: hennessy hammock ultra fast set up technique, eas…: http://youtu.be/1iJTjful66M
I just purchased a KAQ New river underquilt and it's not down but I was also thinking about putting my hennesy pad in between the hammock and quilt so I'm glad I saw this. Nice to see billybob58...
Hopefully I'll be taking the hammock out Saturday to test it out!
Love it, took it out and got it dialed up. Then grabbed my sleeping bag to relax in it. It was 39 degrees and I was very comfortable! Nice work Paul
Congrats brother!
Thread bump
Hey, haven't posted in awhile but I am looking to buy a synthetic underquilt. It will be for a 11ft Dangerbird. I have narrowed it down to these two because of price. I can find a lot of info on the...
Field and stream pillow. It is a bit stiff for me but a warm pillow, gonna look into a cottage made pillow soon
Cool thread
Very nice looking spot!
I'm with flatline, I'm sure it's cool but I don't feel it necessary but again I've never hung during a snow storm or anything like that so I don't know.
My first hammock was a Hennessy expedition asym, and I loved it but I just got too tall to use it so I had to get a longer hammock. I really enjoyed that Hennessey and I plan on buying a deep safari...
Yea I'm not a gram guy so I'm perfectly fine with it. I'll have my brother let me know how it stands up after a few hiking trips.
Made my brother a 9x9 tarp with rocks pulled through for tie outs and some paracord and it still only weighed a pound and and quarter
Very true, it's so hot in Columbia!
I understand, I would like a happy medium. I would prefer a bit colder winters and bit less warm summers
Oh man Columbia is much worse, I feel for you. Yea you probably won't see a winter temperature until late October
Haha it was 90 degrees!
If the temperature will ever drop I'll be able to sleep in it haha
So I tried to test to see if it would leak with about 2-3 ounces of water poured into the make shift bowl. And within about 10 minutes it had dropped about 3 eye drop sized drops to the bottom of the...
I'm going to try the piece of material and see if it hold the water, if it doesn't then I'll try it as mentioned above about hanging on a Ridgeline . I'll try and get some posts on here tonight
I'll see if I can try that tomorrow
Haha I was the one emailing you about this, but you stop replying. I'm glad it will be something you offer on the site.
Hey guys, my uncle builds houses on Fripp island, SC and I asked him for a good chunk of tyvek and he said he would send me some. So he sent a massive sheet of it up here the other day transported...
That's rough! Haha
For me it was flat but I didn't get to play with it too much in the heat
The "vented" part referred to the added over cover. It's a section of no seeum used to vent air in so you don't have condensation when using the over cover. If that helps at all
Haha I know it was way too hot but when I got the hammock there was no way I wasn't gonna check it out! I hope you enjoy yours!
Thanks that's what sold me!
I'm sure it will work great! I work a lot helping cover college football recruiting so my work load heats up when the season starts so I will see if I can make it though! Ps. I like the dream...
Thanks! I appreciate it
Oh and the hammock is 2.6 burgundy fabric with a 1.1 bottom layer black. And black over cover vented.
Got off work early and was right on time for the mail man! The craftsmanship is incredible and I love the hammock! I got to try it out a little bit but it's 90 degrees here and I have no trees so I...
Mine is the black with velvet looking burgundy fabric!
Hey, I have been gone from the forums for awhile but why has IX become less popular? Is it more expensive now or something?
Kelty noah 12 is always a cheaper option
Id grab the 35 degree bag, id rather have it and vent it if its too warm than not have it and wish i did!
Down will always compress much better and pack size is a thing then id say og down but synthetic is still way smaller than a normal sleeping bad or anything like that. But again if you're using a...
Yea I was confused because they didnt have any pictures of the images on the actual hammock but its interesting
Hmm have never seen this brand before. The website is a bit hard to understand, are they saying those designs are printed on the hammock fabric? If so thats very cool
Very cool!!
Like the above posters said, an spe makes a pad much better but you end up spending more money ultimately on a pad. If I had to use a pad id use the Wal-Mart blue ccf pad and just cut it like you...
I havent seen any IX in a while! Looks good
