Thank you!
That's a loaded question, Justduit2! What are you most interested in seeing? Vistas, a lot of arches, climbs, creek or stream access?
Hey everyone, my son and I just decided to head out to Red River Gorge in Kentucky tomorrow evening to hike mainly the Rough Trail starting at Martin's fork. We will likely take it easy and play in...

Cool video! I have a few vids of turkeys and deer. It is nice to hang with the other mammals.
Does anyone, besides me, expect that one day a snake with just raise up and bite them on my butt in...
I'll second that. I "thought" I had an issue with my XLC. They asked for the pictures, walked me through what I was seeing... and low and behold... I was wrong! No issue. But.... they took the time...
Another convert!!! I agree, this forum is great... and the members are everywhere. I set up my hammock in an RV park at Myrtle Beach not too long ago. I saw our neighbor checking out my rig, so I...
Great write up. Thanks for taking the time. I wish I took more time to share my re-gear adventures. There are some very good ideas here and I may need to take some of the ideas into account on my...
I agree that it is probably not a good idea. Concrete is typically designed for compression. I am not an engineer, but it seems that hanging a hammock from cinder block would not be putting force in...
My 10yr old and I both have XLC's, but still have our ENO Dryfly tarps. We get a little damp if the wind blows, but more time will need to pass for us to be able to purchase two more tarps. The ENO...
Welcome from northern Kentucky. You have a much better idea of what you want and need than I did! Enjoy the ride!
Welcome from northern Kentucky! Tents have their place but you will be much happier with the hammock. That fog from a bad nights sleep will gone forever . Enjoy!
I believe a 10.5 ft hammock will suit your needs. A 10 is too short for an ant in my opinion.
I love my HG Incubator with my XLC. The incubator has a few "tabs"? sewn into the suspension tunnels. It just so happens that one of the tabs is perfectly spaced to be tied to the XLC at the tie back...
All the best to you! I'm sure there is a myriad of emotions to confront after an event that significant. I'll be praying for you and I know you will come out stronger than ever.
$ave, $ave, $ave and just buy what you need.... ONCE. It would be worth taking a heavy blanket or two from home for the limited time you will need it. Get the right gear and happiness will be yours!
Yeah the tarp has to be below the pole. There are a few vids on utube showing the problems
I agree that leaving the bottom of the poles uncut help anchor on the ground. Very stable.
WELCOME! Is the cuben tarp your first hammock tarp? If so, great decision. Buy once, cry once... I'm still waiting to tear up my old ENO so I can justify a cuben!
Burnt orange looks great(if that's what u r going for) in the woods. I like camo for hunting, but I don't mind colors when camping.
Now that I read my last post, I'll sleep in the hammock versus wear it!
I'll stick with wearing pants, long sleeve shirts and double layer hammocks!
I use the large luminaid It weighs less than the smaller one. It works great by placing it at the end of the hammock. Great diffusion for reading.
