Perefect weekend for a hang if anyone wants to join. Wil be on private land in creola alabama
Will be campin in creola al this weekend if anyon wants to join. Email me at [email protected] and I can give directions
HOD hang? I am free for a reschedule anytime after next weekend. Mardi Gras balls lined up through then
That would be cool. Blakely is ok... but way too overpriced when compared to other parks. Luckily now that hunting season is over I have private land in Creola Alabama I can camp on for free anytime...
If anyone wants to hang down this way anytime soon let me know. Want to try my new suspension out
This is my take on the SLS. I like the base suspension on the original but I am going to use biners to tree straps. I also used a adjustable ridge line from the whoopieslings store instead of using...
Thanks for the offer of the map. I probably won't need one actually. going with a group that have paddled it many times. My wife and I just wanted to hang instead of being in a tent like everyone else
Any of ya'll been to the Bankhead National Forrest? I was looking at going on a trip with USA and I was looking at the rules. Of course they have rules about damaging trees would of course could be...
Rain finally cleared. I might hang at Blakely for the night just to get out
I was about to say the chance saturday is 60%. No chance is going all the way there for it to storm. For some reason I am no longer getting notifications from the site so sorry for the delay
I agree. Make the call Thursday. I don't wanna be stuck under a tarp either
and the weather is looking like it may do just that
Anybody have an exact address on the campgrounds so I can find it that weekend. Otherwise I have no clue where I am going
Well I am ready. I have a bunch of firewood in my truck that I need to get split but seeing it shouldn't be cold it should be enough for us to cook on and such. Looking forward to this
Lets keep our fingers crossed for the rain chance to move on out of the forecast for that weekend
Also check on how much it will be per person if you don't mind
Well hopefully we are good to go. Just need to verify the week of or so and we're set. Ready to meet some of you guys
If we are looking for a particular site we need to look. Taylo, if you will check on that place and see. I would but I don't know the area or that park at all. Would hate to go up there and it...
We just need to verify that they are ok with us hanging.. or have someone verify that they have had no problems hanging there
Yes that is still the weekend we are shooting for (hopefully the weather cooperates) Are we still shooting for conecuh forrest?
Ill be at Blakely Friday and Saturday. You won't be able to miss me. Ill be out hanging with my cheap walmart silver tarp over me. Gotta to invest in a better one. If you want PM me and I will give...
I will be at Blakely all weekend if anyone does feel like getting out. Looks like the rain chances are going away but I wanna stick somewhat close to home in case
I agree. I noticed the chance of rain on saturday as well. And we all know a 30% chance in mobile is like guaranteeing it will rain. How would everyone feel about the weekend of the 21,22,and 23rd of...
I love mine. its holds odds and ends at night while I sleep
Just gotta check the finances to be sure. Applying for grad school aint cheap
Like the sound of that. how far from mobile? I haven't had to much of a condensation problem with my setup thankfully.
Im ok with wherever
Would definitely be interested in that. I have heard they have some pavilions out there to camp on. Could be mistaken
They are open year round but I did find out they do not allow anything to be attached to trees. Including hammocks
I kinda doubt it but ill check. I figured they would be open year round like blakely
I really don't know. All I know is there is normal campground style camping and they have something called backwoods camping. Gotta hike 10-15 minutes in. The info on that in one their website
Anyone else down for next weekend at chikasabouge?
Is it possible to use a Whoopie Slings Adjustable ridge line with my stock setup. Not really to make the jump to a new suspension yet. Could I put the two loops on the stock carabiners?
Well if anyone wants to join me and chickasabouge next weekend feel free to get ahold of me
If anyone is interested I'm join to be hitting up chicasabouge or blakely weekend after New Years
any work from the Old St Stephens people?
I love it. I do believe i would want one of these as well
Only reason I knew that is I took a Anthropology class this semester and they went over their dig up there. I am excited about a group hang. If we want to do other hangs I have access to private...
USA has had a bunch of crews out there during the summers too
Even better. Good excuse to bring my kayak
Sounds like a plan. Im thinking of trying to shoot mid-jaruary if we have another mild weekend like this. I have never been up to Old St Stephens. A lot of hiking and other opportunities up that way?
The more the merrier
Taylo if you could look into working something out with old St. Stephens that would be great. Just let us know
Agreed. If we could hang someone on Dauphin Island that would be cool but theres not a lot of places. If we can get a place nailed down we can figure out a place we'll work on a date. Ill probably be...
I saw mention of a group hang in another post and would like to get one together down here in lower alabama. The temps today were in the 70's and have been dying to hang with others. If we can get...
I did the bartram trail and the mounds back in October or November. Gotta love that you can paddle down here well into December
Who would be interested in setting up another Mobile area hang. I have buddies I camp with but not many fellow hangers. If anyone would be interested let me know... These nice 70's outside make me...
I picked it up from one of Shug's videos but a pad underneath you can do wonders. I was hanging the same weekend. i had a cheap Coleman 0-20 mummy bag (Synthetic of course). I had the pad underneath...
Im in for sure. I am new to hanging and wouldn't mind trying a different setup than my ENO
I'm looking to replace my suspension but its not that bad. Unless I was going on a long backpacking trip the weight isn't that bad
