I realize this thread is ancient, but I was looking for hang areas and saw your post. THANK YOU for actually getting that saying right. Everyone always says it is "better" to beg for forgiveness......

OK. Thanks. I did go to his site to see it but thought that was being given as a workaround. I guess the file has been removed from the gallery then and that's why we don't see it here. It has...
What do you mean by "register"? I am a forum member. Is there something else that needs to be done as I can't see this chart either while I can see pictures in the other threads.
I bought one a week or so ago when they wen on sale for $17. It came and I looked it over pretty good. It looks allright. Not Sil, but a heck of a lot lighter than the poly tarps I've been using. ...
I always attach my pack to a tree. I find a stick about as long as my shoulders are wide and lash it to the tree at about elbow level. Then put one shoulder strap over each side. This makes it...
Your lack of killing yourself was basically what I was pointing to when I said, "On the other hand, how does the strength of most hammock nylon compair to the dynaglide?
The whole thing is a system...
I truely don't want to start an arguement and mean this as a discussion point.... But, a lot of people use 550 cord too and manage not to kill themselves. I think the 550 users are nuts and are...
Very nice.
You give the width as 63". Is that a single piece or did you have to join two pieces? If you had to join them, how did that go for you? I just started playing with a sewing machine...
Your page has been "liked". :-)
OK. So no experience with a single layer hammock and a pad? Switching hammocks really isn't in the cards for me. I'll grab a pad and just give it a shot and see what happens. Thanks!
I use a sleeping bag and a blanket when it's "cold" and a fleece bag when it is warmer. As someone that can't get a blanket to lay in my hammock without all bunching up then falling out when I get...
Unfortunately I'm a drummer :-) (or was 25 years ago)
You aren't kidding. I've asked 3 questions today and all 3 were answered quite well.
You could color code the ends. Maybe shrink tubing on the suspension of one end or the other. A small zip tie or tape or nail polish or.... on one end or the other.
Thank you. I like the way you limited the amount of stretch.
AHA! That's what I was missing. Thanks
So, how much stretch are you looking for in the bungee? 1/8", 1/4" bungee?
I don't understand. You said it needs to be non stretchy but you use a bungee loop? Doesn't the bungee stretch about a hundred times more than any paracord? What am I missing?
Thanks! That will cut down the bulk quite a bit over what I had pictured.
I've been hanging for about 2 years now but mostly in the warmer months. I love having my entire shelter and sleeping kit consist of a softball sized hammock, a small tarp and a fleece sleeping bag....
Howdy. I've been hanging for about 2 years now. After trying it the first time I'll never go back to the ground. I use a ENO double nest and am still playing with suspension and ridgelines and...
