You may get some help here, but most of us don't spend time in hammocks like the one in the pictures above.

Graciously encourage them to consider doing it the right way if they seem approachable

Thanks for the tutorial. What about a short video of it in action?
Thats a lot accomplished in a day. Nice work
Wow. Thats sweet. Nice work!
Go 0. Minimal addition for weight, covers the lower end our your range and easy to vent if hot.
I would go for the extra warmth with the HG. It is worth the extra little bit and you wont freeze. Also, dont neglect to pay attention to these guys and their suggestions with the temp ratings-...
I had a reminder of this the other day. I was in my cement-floored porch reading to my kids in our hammock, and my 3 year old whoopies failed. Well, just one of them. We only fell around 5in because...
Stupid answer perhaps- drip rings?
It isnt something I would use unless in an emergency, but I dont think I would carry the ground anchor around with me while hiking. I presume thats why most people dont go for a setup like this.
I would be interested in seeing a video on the knot. Looks easy and helpful.
Who ever took these photos has a great eye for what the final product will be. Thanks for sharing and for taking the time to add everything.
Beautiful part of the country, but ive never been. Thanks for sharing.
The bowline is my favorite, but I dont tie it often enough to remember how to. It does work great on tarps.

Oh, and if you add a large TQ in the form of a packable down blanket you will stay nice and wamr and be able to share body head with your co-sleeper.
I used UQs and they worked well. Think of the Vertex as two separate hammock with a little bit of material stitched in between them- once you lay in them there is enough material on either side that...
I looked a number of them, but never spend enough time out in the woods to justifty the price. A better taro with doors would be ideal though, and helpful on those days when you cant get out form...
Im with you on the question. Those fiberglass poles with cords on the outside are a pain to deal with when putting through the sleeves.
I've been there 4 or 5 times. By far, my favorite camping trip. The water is beautiful and the distance from civilization is ideal. Most of the time I was on the south west side of the park by Rain...
Looks pleasant. Thanks for sharing!
Since I usually sleep poorly while hanging, I just assume try to sleep a little longer in the am if I am able. Doesn't always work though, and I usually need to hit the trail or head home.
Welcome! I am in the Madison area. There are a number of great places to hang in Sounther Wisconsin (Northern as well).
I had a friend at a church I worked at who had in interest in hammock camping. He invited me along and because I had issues with my neck and found no problems when hammock camping, I was hooked.
I use whoopies for adjustability and straps so the whoopies dont get nasty. I have appreciated them for as long as I have used them, but think that a simpler solution would be nice. I just don't want...
