You may have more down leakage. No material is actually "downproof" and when you use a lower FP down (smaller feathers) you may experience more leakage.
This is the second time I have seen someone use poles like that inside of the tarp. Really cool idea that I never would've thought of. Awesome tarp, I'm green with envy.
Yes, I'm aware but it is a risk I'm willing to take since it has been almost a month and there appears to be no bites. Also, I had some questions that I wanted answered before I committed.
I'll take the GG Murmur, pending the answers to my questions sent via PM.
Found a pack. Mods, do as you wish with the thread.
Yes, my pack has the long side pocket and two smaller pockets on the other side. I would like $120.00 for it.
I have an older model (roll top) Mariposa that I would be willing to let go. It is in excellent condition, no rips, holes or tears. All the straps are the original length and I have the sit pad. ...
I trimmed all the straps with the exception of the shoulder straps, waist belt and sternum strap. I completely removed the lower compression straps (found them to be useless anyways) and I added...
It should fit a 44 waist. I wear a 36 and there is plenty of extra room when the belt is extended fully.
I'm visiting family in Florida right now but I will be home Saturday morning. I will let you know what size the waist belt is Saturday.
I have an Osprey Kestrel 48. I made some mods to it...removed all excess straps and one of the ice axe loops, added some shock cord on the back. It has an adjustable torso from 18"-22". Let me know...
Mods, found someone that is going to make me a set of UCR's. Feel free to close the thread at your convenience.
Found the fabric I was needing.
I'm in the market for some 1.1 Ripstop nylon. I'm going to try my hand at making my first down top quilt and I figured I'd see if anyone had some extra that they would be willing to part with. I'm...
Who said anything about "the enemy"? The original question was how to hide in the woods...I gave him some tips cause my job is to hide in the woods, or desert, or arctic, or jungle...or anywhere and...
The Kryptek camoflauge patterns are awesome! I hunt in them. Multicam is a really close second. I'm so happy that the conventional Army caught on to Multicam and started issuing it for use in...
Awesome video. I would like to hike this trail but I would only have the opportunity during December/ January or June/ July...neither of which sound too appealing.
I know it's old but I hiked the Falls Lake section this past week. It was easy to hang but the only two places you are supposed to camp are nearly thirty miles from either end of the trail. It was...
Looks like adhesive dacron tape is the answer. Thanks for the tips! Unfortunately I can only find it sold by the yard and the shipping costs more than a yard of the stuff.
I have a Spinn tarp and was wondering how I should go about patching a small hole...about the size of pen head. Would seam sealer or some sort of silicone do the trick without an actual patch or...
I recently let my wife hang in one of my hammocks and now she is hooked. due to her new found interest I am in need of a tarp that is big enough for both of us to hang under. I'm thinking along the...
I have an Eno single nest that I am looking to move. PM me if you're interested.
I've got an 800 mL Optimus titanium pot that I would be willing to trade.
PM send about the GoLite Jam.
The MSS is a great system. I usually only use my bivy and poncho liner unless the temps are going to dip into the 30's. I will be relatively warm down to about freezing temps with the bivy and...
Sent you a PM...hopefully it's still available.
While bug nets are a good idea I will throw in my two cents...these hammocks will not be used by Marines or Soldiers that are patrolling. There are several reasons but the main one being security...
I'll take it if it's still available. Paypal?
It was right around 25 Saturday night...pretty chilly but everything was warm except my nose LOL.
Went out this weekend for a quick overnight hike in the Uwharrie National Forest in NC. Started at the Hwy 24/27 trail-head Saturday morning and hiked about 14 miles during the day. Ran into a nice...
I have before and at this time of the year I would recommend it. The Chattooga can be a hard river to fish without getting wet. It adds quite a bit to my load since I don't believe in the super...
Definitely go hike the Foothills Trail and fish the Chattooga...go to the upper section of the river and you won't be disappointed. That is one of my favorite rivers in the Southeast.
I've tried a few other hammocks over the years and the Single Nest is actually the most comfortable for me. I like that I have a slight curve in my back...it helps relax it and my back always feels...
Sure, that sounds like a good idea. I was in the Uwharries this weekend...got a little damp and chilly on Sunday but I managed to stay dry and warm. If being the Infantry has taught me one thing,...
I'm from Florida too...just a little south of Ocala. Thank you to all of you!
Hi gents and ladies, I've been lurking around here for a while now and finally decided to sign up and enjoy all the site has to offer.
