Sorry it was UGQ that rents and here is the link to thier post on the forum:

I am pretty sure there is a cottage vendor that rents hammock equipment. I saw a post about this a while back. I think it was Hammock Gear but not 100% sure but price was reasonable at like $25 a day...
Reviving a few wek old thread instead of opening a new one.....
Does anyone know if these Ridgeline Quilt Hooks stay permanantly on the quilt suspension? Or do they have to be applied each time? I...
I read about the mineral rights and possible fracking a few months before doing the hike. In one of the trail register boxes that we passed and opened there was a map which showed our current...
I really enjoyed your trip report. Lookss like you had an excellent adventure. Thanks for sharing.
World's End State Park is very close. I drove through WESP to get to and from the OLP trailhead.
Kelty Noah 12 was my first tarp and I still use it from time to time. It's a bit heavy but it has a ton of tie outs and it can be pitched numerous ways. I tend to use it in doors configuration but...
Lots of info on this site. Good luck from Delco PA.
My first UQ is a Jarbidge and it's still my go to quilt. I have had mine down to 27 degrees with a supplemental blue ccf pad I got from wally world. I don't use an UQ protector since it is synthetic...
Lots of wood but it was damp during our trip so 1st night we didn't even try to make a fire. Second night we tried to build a fire and succeeded after a long while. It was a decent fire but it rained...
Yooz I saw your video of the OLP with Baxter a while back. Thanks for the tips. I hope Adaranko does not ruin the area with their industrialized fracking for natural gas. They would surely ruin the...
Hi all. Wanted to share my experience for my first multiday backpacking trip this year Sunday thru Tuesda May 17th thru 19th on the Old Loggers Path in the Loyalsock State Forest in PA. This has been...
It is a good versatile tarp at a good price. It's still my winter tarp of choice. I ditched the supplied stuff sack and use a wally world ditty bag to carry it to pack it a bit smaller. It's a tad...
Used to use Tyvek. It was OK. Much prefer the PolyCro sheets from Gossamer.

And that is a deal at $33. If I already didn't have two of them I would pick up another. Got...
Thanks for a great video.
Any chance you could post the dimensions of the tarp you were using? It looks like it would be a good way to get my wife to try hammocking since she doesn't like the...
My New River and Jarbidge are both stored in the same mesh laundry bag that I got a walmart for $6.
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Mainstays-Mesh-Laundry-Bag/16206971
You can use a sit pad to supplement the 3/4 length UQ if you don't want to use a full sized pad.
I cut mine from a blue CCF pad from walmart. Cost $15 which is not very spendy. It was the 20" CCF...
I do the same but not really by choice since it is the gear that I have that dictates right now. Both my quilts are rated to 30*. My topquilt is good to about 40* and my down bags good to 35*.
I have apex envy. :D
But I'm still happy with my standard Jarbidge.
Anyone got a pic of a standard Jarbidge next to an apex Jarbidge to compare packed/stuffed sizes?
ENO Doublenest...my first and still my go to hammock.
For now anyway. :D
Hey Now...welcome from Philly. What part of Joisey do you hail from fine citizen?

So glad I changed my plans and met y'all up at the 501 shelter. I was great meeting everyone. It was my son's first time in a hammock overnight. He did just fine, and said he slept most of the night...
Gamelands lot it is. See you guys up there Saturday evening some time.
Blackfoot - thank you for the shuttle offer. We may need to take you up on the offer.
Hmm...I was planning to do a short Pinnacle and Pulpit loop in Hamburg with my 11y/o son who is a 1st time hammock hanger.
Maybe I'll meet up with you guys instead. My kid doesn't do vegetables...
Thank you for the trip report. Awesome pics and story line.
I have this on my short list of PA hikes/camps and hope get there by year end 2013.
Thanks. Yeah my wife couldn't get the pump to work at first. It was quite a workout to get the well pump to prime but once flowing it was fine.
And thank you for the info from your original links...
Only perfect had the ice cream place been open. The thought of ice cream at the end got us through the last 3 or 4 miles.
Hehe..what happens in the tent…stays in the tent
Yep, but there...
Welcome to the forum from Philly.
West Rim Trail - PA Grand Canyon hike - Northbound from Rattlesnake Rock in Blackwell to Ansonia on Monday June 3rd thru Wednesday June 6th 2013.
I had been planning this hike since last fall...
Thank you for sharing your adventure with that most excellent video.
The last time I was up at Culver's Gap I had a similar incident. I camped off the AT just north of the trail for the Buttermilk Falls. It was windy as hell but no rain. I tried to set the tarp up so...
Port Clinton to Slatington/Lehigh Gap is about 40mi per my 2009 Thru Hikers's Companion and within that stretch is "The Pulpit and Pinnacle" which are some of the best views in PA.

Thank you for sharing. Very nice videos.
Awesome. Thanks again Mr Perrito.
My plan is to park at the NOBO trailhead, get the shuttle from Pine Creek Outfitters to the southern terminus and hike in 4 miles or so to the Bohen trail to...
I have both walmart pads...the regular 20" thin pad in the OP

And the 24" wide thicker pad with egg crate. ...
That is the progression I made. I got the Jarbidge first. Used it a bunch of times. Then my son wanted to get outa the tent and into a hammock. So I got a New River to supplement the Jarbidge. I have...
I am hoping there will be an update to this thread or a trip report. I am doing the West Rim Trail NOBO the first week of June and it would be nice to see how current conditions are.
Thanks to Mr...
Welcome from Delco PA. You are correct. Lots of info on this site. I think I learn something new every time I log on.
I use the mini groundhogs and like them, but they are not my go-to stakes. I think the regular groundhogs are my go-to.
Here is a comparison photos of the mini groundhog compared to the regular...
All my hammocks have the Camp Nano biners...I'm not a toggle kinda guy
Camp Nano 23 on all my hammocks
Is there a way to use a hammock in "chair" mode with the buginator attached? Does it "slide" to left or right of the hammock or fold back?
So I got my Hammock Forums Y Stakes and thought I would post a pic in case anyone wanted to see a comparison with MSR groundhogs and MSR groundhog mini's. I threw a typical aluminum sheperd tent...
I don't really mind the size of the New River in the stuf sack. It fully fills the bottom of my pack in a lengthwize position. It seems to give it better balance or equilibrium on the bottom of the...
Looks good! Enjoy your purchase. I just got one too...same color and everything...and used it last weeked with good results.
