If you're going that route, you might as well not sew the hammock body to an thing and just gather with the underlay and whip. That way it's still modular.

I'm going to put the darts by the head and by the feet. No darts in the other corners. Should place the loft where it is needed.

The red line represents what I'm looking for. I'm going to try this but I'm going to add a little extra and over stuff it. Have you made anything like this before snowball?

I am confident doing the darts and I think that is the key to providing loft to where you need it.

I think making this would be a lot simpler than making an underquilt. And it basically is a permanent uqp, but with added insulation.

If this works it will solve many problems:

- adjusting underquilt location
- adjusting underquilt tension
- avoid complexity of constructing underquilt
- it will have a much cleaner look
