I like my XLC double.
Looks great.
Same here. I like them for ease of deployment.
And how long is your top bar to allow you to hang your tarp?

What is this bar between these two legs? Most of the others I've seen use a caribiner of one of the unused bolt holes...
That looks really good.
Found the turtldog thread. Anyone ever made one of square tubing (metal) instead of wood 2x2's?
Id like to see pictures of stands people have built. I need something for my backyard-don't have trees close enough together. I didn't find a similar picture thread, but if I missed it please let me...

To the top.

Large, Feather Grey, $165
I ordered this off Steep and Cheap October 1. Got it in the mail, checked the fit, hung it in the closet. I live in Houston, it is 75* right now, so I haven't actually...
Do they only come in blue? I've only seen them that way and I need something black, tan, olive, etc.
Non hammock related project but figured I could source it here. Thanks.
Didn't know there were trees way out there. You hang in the Chisos or what?
Welcome to HF
Thanks. I stuck with the perfection loop and it looks to be holding up find in the backyard.
I am making a CRL for my OES MacCat Deluxe. I will have a dutch hook on one end and dutch wasp on the other. Can I get away with a perfection loop for the hook, or should I go through the hassle of a...
Welcome. I have seen pics of two hammocks under one tarp before. That might be the way to go for a bug out bag, if I am reading your post correctly. 4 cuben fiber tarps would be awfully expensive to...
Ya it was a little too tight last night. Foot end suspension needed to be higher on the post and loosened up a little bit. The quilt didn't want to come under my shoulder until I turned on my side...
Thanks again.
I may be able to make it. But I am a little confused.
There is a parking lot at Neiderhoffer with limited parking space, but plenty of hanging room in the area. Then Saturday morning, people are...
I like this. Best of both worlds I guess.
Sorry if this is a dumb question, this is my first UQ. Do I have it attached correctly? I know there is a head and foot end. I wasn't sure if both the medium and thicker shock cord stayed in the s...
It's definitely a mind game for me. The four legged critters don't worry me nearly as much as the two legged ones. I was canoe camping with some friends on a small island last year. I was in my tent...
I went Hammock Gear, just got it in the mail today. I'll let you know what I think after my trip next week. Fit n finish is excellent.
I just ordered a silpro MacCat Deluxe. I had a superfly on order but their lead time changed and I wouldn't have it in time for a big trip. Warbonnet is awesome and gave me a refund to order...
27th is my planned start date as well. I haven't hiked any of the trail yet, but have rescheduled a thru hike about 3 times now. I'm just going to do it solo unless I run into someone out there. How...
Superfly is supposed to be excellent quality and huge. They are pretty backed up on orders right now though.
ksbcrocks - Are you gong west to east? What date are you starting?
Mrs. Baby Huey - Ya on the listserv I got a map. Looks like it's closed between PL #1 & #2 till further notice due to a million...
Just saw this, wish I could have made it. How wet was everything and what sections did you end up hiking? I am planning a thru hike in about 3 weeks and hoping I am not in water all the time.
I have the webbing and buckles that came on my BB XLC. I don't really have a problem with them so far, even though they are a little tricky to adjust while the hammock is hanging. I have read a lot...
Nice, looks comfy.
Thanks for the input. I think I will get an OES, not sure if I need the extra length of the ultra for a WBBB XLC or if I can use the deluxe. Do yall know?
I ordered a Superfly a couple days ago, then got notice that Warbonnet updated their lead times to like 5-7 weeks. I have a week long thru hike scheduled in a month and I have to have a tarp by then....
Thanks, I will be making some of these when I get my new tarp.
PM inbox is full, email sent.
Well I don't have a sewing machine and couldn't wait a couple weeks to have it done by 2QZQ, so I ordered the dutch version that goes outside the tarp.

Dutch's model uses 1.75mm as well. Thanks for the help.
You think I am ok using 1.75mm lash it for the ridge line on a superfly? The SLTRL from whoopie slings uses 2.2mm line, recommended for tarps that size.

I finally found exactly what I am talking about.

Can I do a larks head of bungee that connects to the tarp corner? Than lash it from the tail of the clip to a tent stake. What knot can I use in the lash it so...
That's pretty cool, congrats. Did your discoveries lead to changes in your products?
Anxiously awaiting my new superfly, snakeskins, and dutchware gear. I am wondering who all uses a pole mod with the SF? Is it worth the extra weight of the poles over some spare guy line to tie out...
Just ordered a Superfly. The custom options of the winter dream were not worth the extra cost to me. I also would prefer to have doors at this point.

I think this is exactly what I had envisioned. There are no V's in the RL at the trees. Is that important? I have seen...
I am about to order a new tarp, and thinking of switching to a CRL with prusiks over the tarp, possibly adding pole mod later on. My understanding is one end of the CRL would have a S biner. It would...
Dang that looks like fun. On my bucket list.
Is there a different in durability between the SF and WD? I haven't read of any problems with the SF yet, just wondering if one is hands down heavier duty.
Thanks for the info. I also just came across the UGQ Winter Dream. Looks like the superfly, but much more customizable and slightly heavier. And more expensive. If the superfly is built well enough I...
I don't camp in snow, and it really doesn't get all that cold down here. I am also not hugely concerned with weight. This brought be to something like the WB mamajamba or OES Ultra. Do these provide...
