I am not part of the trip but my vote is Chards goulash...fantastic!!
Looks like a nice trip you have planned. I will be on the other side of the park doing a little lollygag on the Wester Uplands trail at the same time. Lets hope for sunny days and crisp nights. Have...
So wanted to put it out there that I will have room in the truck for a passenger or two. Although I think Mark and myself might stay till Monday morning.
So any word on a destination?
Happy New Years all. Just spoke to Mark and we are in for the 7th, 8th, 9th weekend. I have no opinion on location. Will keep an eye on the thread.
So we are on the trail. Its a smooth hardpacked trail. We are past Hilltop junction to the left and there is supposed to be a side trail to Sliver lake...to the west of the trails. There is a sign....
We dont have No-Frills around us...will a white Food Basics bag work?!?!?
;)
Oh just an FYI me and Mark are planning to stay Sunday night as well so anyone that is free Monday is of course welcome as well.
Right sounds fine to me. I will try to remember an extra candle lantern to hang on the trail where we head into the bush.
Greg, we will aim to be there by noon as well.
Text or call me when you are on the road.

So who all is planning to hit the trail Friday morning/early afternoon?
Me and Mark will be driving up in the morning. Not sure of the time...its about 4.5 or 5 hrs from my house. PM me your number and we can co-ordinate something.
I am in for the weekend. Pretty sure Mark is also coming.
Looks like another good time. Wish I could have made it!
Any thoughts/opinions on using the Sunday lake dog sled trail in Algonquin Park? Fees apply but there is parking and a "groomed" trail to follow. Just cant walk without snowshoes or skis.
So I was wondering if there were any thoughts of a destination for this year yet.
Last winter I layered a 20°long and wide over a 20° regular and was toasty down to -35°C or -20ish°F wearing thin baselayer and medium weight layer.
I wouldnt hesitate to go to0° with a 40 and 20....
Looks like I should be good for February 8 to 10th.
Will check the calendar. Would be nice to get together...been awhile.
Not sure of plans for Valens weekend but cant make the backcountry weekend. Its the Bosses birthday.
If the weekend changes I would like to go and can borrow a truck that can carry 4 adults...
Anytime Connie.
Me and Mark made it home fine!
A good time was had by all.
I have virtually indestructible canoe you are welcome to use. Does NOT come with injury insurance tho. I would try it....just saying.
I will not be able to attend the weekend of Feb. 2-4.
The boss has a milestone birthday on the 2nd and my couch is not good for sleeping!
Have fun.
Apparently my phones calendar thinks I am not in Ontario.
According to my phone calendar it is the 12th
So the weekend of Feb 2 to 4 is the date? I am gonna go out on a limb and assume most wives would frown on going away Family day weekend?
Regularily enjoy my pipe while lounging in my hammock.
I will be traveling with Walkinthewoods so whatever weekend works for him is fine with me.
Oh man I would love to join for a jaunt on the LA Cloche but unfortunately I am all out of vacation days. Have fun!
Really glad we decided to come out. Had a great time. Will see what Tracey has for pictures and see about adding a few.
Hey Chris. Not sure how far out of your way Goderich is but I have one of those folding canoe/kayak portage karts. Your welcome to use it.
Looks like a nice trip.
Love the Moroccan blue and Grey. Nice colors. Are you gonna start making summer weight top quilts? Say 1" loft...+ 5°c
Sounds like it was a fun trip. Sorry that I had to cancel!
Have fun Lofty...looking like a wet one!
Hey all. We have had some changes come up at home and wont be able to do the full loop. Hoping to make the Weekend portion tho.
Welcome from South Western Ontario.
Goderich area.
Was great seeing you again Bubba!
Ted. Text me when you are on the road. Let us know what you think.
Mark and my self will be leaving around 6 tomorow...puts us in Huntsville around 930 or 10. I will text you and let you know what it is like. We are in a front wheel drive car also.
Next time fella.
Need to confirm with Mark for sure but I imagine we will leave around 7am...ish. Which puts us in Barrie 9-930 and Hwy 60/Troutspawn rd Noonish.
We do have room for a passenger if anyone wants to...
Dates are May 14/15 start through till the 22. I have booked the time off work. At this point it is myself and the Tracey aka THE BOSS. The 13th is my birthday so likely we will travel up a day early...
Let me talk to Mark and figure out what vehicle we are using. We might have room for a third passenger. Will be in touch.
So looks like Mark and myself will be heading up on Friday with a mid morning arrival. Should I bring my large kettle and hanging chain?
Chard, any word on parking? I will through a couple shovels...
What model year is it?
Hey Ted. I was originally going to be catching a ride with Lofty but he cant make it now:(
Do you have room for a hitchhiker with a 6foot tobogan? My wife needs the car for the weekend but can...
Dont quote me but I think it is 3 or 4 km to the lake but I am pretty sure there is an established snowmobile trail most of the way to walk on.
Ok thanks Chard.
