Just went with the cinch buckle supplied by warbonnet. I’ll try some others later but it seemed the simplest for me to start with. Thanks y’all!
I notice a lot of y’all seem to use the CRL. What benefits do y’all find using a CRL over a two piece set up?

I’ve got a Warbonnet Minifly I’m looking to deck out with some Dutchware. What is your favorite pieces for tarp rigging?

Thanks ya’ll! What’s your favorite UQ?
Thanks for sharing that previous thread on the subject! Good info in there.

With my upcoming purchase of the warbonnet eldorado, I need to get an under quilt. I live in Texas so i figure a 30-40 degree quilt should be enough. Should I get a specific left/right lay UQ or will...
I’m getting ready to purchase a warbonnet eldorado and i haven’t decided if i want the cinch system or whoopie system. What would y’all recommenced?

Looking at doing a thru hike of this trail sometime soon. Anyone complete it? Any helpful tips?
I have a HH with the zip entry. I like it a lot but I have never used the classic.
Those are a sweet little bit of kit. I'm gonna have to get one of those.
Oh yeah. From what I've read its crazy light and packs exceptionally small. I'm looking forward to getting it!
Thanks for the suggestion everyone. I actually just snagged a Mont Bell Plasma from ebay for 140 bucks!
Large would be ideal, medium would work.
Thanks guys. Im keeping my eye out.
Hey everyone!
I'm looking for a lightly use down jacket. I'm looking for something like a Mont-Bell or similar. Let me know if you have anything or any recommendations.

Thats true. Could be used under the knees for sure or possibly in conjuction with a top quilt.
Id detach the lower part and stuff it under my head as a pillow.
Be neat to have a UQ that had a snap portion on the last part of it so you could add or remove to make a 3/4 or full length quilt given the circumstances of your hike. Is something like this already...
Looking to get a under quilt soon so I can hang this winter. Do you all recommend a full length over a 3/4 or vice versa? Is it more a matter of the extra weight you will be caring or is the weight...
The DIY route is fun and rewarding. The stove SilvrSurfr posted is awesome. If you don't want to make your own I'd recommend stoves by Zelph or Mini Bull Designs.
Howdy everyone,
I stumbled across Appalachian Hammock today and was curious if anyone has any previous experience with them? They seem to sell just two hammocks and a tarp but they seem like good...
Great little kit. Just got one myself.
Great video, it was a real treat to watch. I'm heading to the Manistee River Trail next weekend and this got me even more excited to go.
I use gear grams to weigh my gear as well as to make sure I have everything for my trips.
Heres the suspension on my diy hammock. Works great!
I'll post a few pics of it in action with my DIY hammock tomorrow!
Just got a suspension kit and an extra pair of tree huggers from AHE and the quality and quick shipping was great. Ill definitely be doing business with them again. Thank you!
Thanks for the ideas everyone. I'm heading to the store after work to get a couple different things.
You might be able to get away with a PLUQ and a pad. Just a thought!
Duck tape might do the trick long enough for me to make it through the trip! Id send it to ya gargoyle but I wouldn't be able to get it out till Saturday at the earliest.
I'm off to my trip June 28th so time is tight between work and school and such. That's why I was thinking about the velcro, I figured it might work but then again im not all that savvy in the DIY...
Hey everyone. Im trying to put a bug net together for a trip I have coming up real soon. Sadly, the ol thread injector was on its last legs and gave up on me last night. Anyone have any ideas on how...
Those are both great looking nets. Unfortunately between work and class my time for another DIY project is very low. Ill definitely hold on to those links for when I get some time though.
Hey everyone!
Im looking to buy a bug net for a hammock I just made. I have an up coming trip and ive just about run out of time to put one together myself. Im looking for one that closes up with...
Good reminder! My suspension is really new so I dont even think about looking at it.
This is interesting. I wonder why they changed the ends. Ill have to check mine when I get home.
I hang mine high enough to stand under as well. If I want to cut out as much wind as possible and get ready for a storm I'll lower it just to be safe.
Welcome aboard! I know exactly how you feel as I was doing the same thing not that long ago. You'll love the hammock and the tarp!
I appreciate all the advice. I'm gonna have to see which way works the best for my needs.
Ill have to give this a try then.
I'm curious as to how you attach the continuous loop to the HH.
Thanks for that link. Made a little more sense. Basically the whoopie needs to be a few inches longer to accommodate the wrapping correct?
Sounds good! I appreciate your help.
Ahh. Alright, that makes sense. How much longer would you recommend I make them then?
Hey everyone. I just started playing around with some Amsteel and I'm about to venture into making my own whoopie slings for my Hennessy. One thing I noticed is that most websites have a different...
I used the Hennessy Hex Fly. Its a bit bigger than the standard one. When you use the s-biners you clip the ends of the tarp onto them instead of the stock clips that the hennessy comes with.
...
This is the one I have: http://shop.whoopieslings.com/Single-Line-Tarp-Ridge-Line-TRL1.htm
I use it with the small number 1 s-biners.
I prefer to us a second ridge line. I got mine over at whoopie sling vendor. As for packing them both in the same skin I would avoid putting them together if the tarp is wet. I would put the hammock...
Huh, well thats good! Guess I may have been getting myself confused about the process.. Looks like I'll be getting them whoopies soon then!
