Just saw a teaser for a new Warbonnet hammock on Facebook. It looks like an integrated hammock with built in underquilt. Coming August 1st! Anyone heard anything about it? Any special deals for...
It's a little far out for me to commit, but I'm definitely interested.
I considered snapping them together as well, here's the problem I'm seeing: I have them safety pinned together right now in "prototype" mode. When I suspend it with the shock cord you get big gaps...
Sorry, no pics yet. The way I have it set up right now, I shouldn't have to cut anything. I have it folded in half the long way, so it is still 70" long, making it a full length underquilt. I...
Picked up 4 today. Doubled over, they make an almost perfect "Lynx" style underquilt for the ridge runner. The size is almost ideal. With it folded in half, I safety pinned the open side together...
The weight really is the big problem. I'm not an uberlite packer by any means, but I am trying to stay as light as possible. If the 3 season will truly get me comfortably through 3 seasons, then...
I do most of my current packing with lows that average in the 20-40 degree range. I've been able to stay warm with a combination of pads, but I want the ease and comfort of an underquilt. I'm not...
Seeking the advice that will tip me off the fence. Hoping to get opinions from those who own and use Lynx underquilts. Well, really, all underquilt users could offer helpful advice. I am torn...
Often, the simplest solutions are the best.
Well, you've already caused me to "reinvest" my kid's college fund in hammock gear, I might as well have a t-shirt to show for it! Count me in!
I wasn't aware that we ever get out of the "futzing around stage"
Just received a package from "Brandon-Claus"! The new Cloudburst and Superfly will fill out my stocking nicely! Two weeks for shipping, right in the heart of the busy season, pretty darn good if...
One more from Northern Utah. Welcome to the family!
Welcome to the family from Springville UT. Great place to hang out and an absolute wealth of knowledge! If you haven't already picked up "The Ultimate Hang" by Derek Hansen (Dejoha on HF) do so. ...
Couldn't get the menus to work either, but LOVE the idea!
Mmmmmmm...that's good camo. I already ordered the original. :crying That's o.k. though. I have a new plan... I give the one I ordered to my wife because "I just thought you finally needed you OWN...
That's what's killing me! I was literally going on the sight to pull the trigger on the regular no-net double, and BAM...there's the multicam. You're making this very difficult you know! If...
Anyone received a RidgeRunner in Multicam yet? I would love to see some pics! There's a RidgeRunner soon to join my arsenal, I just haven't decided which color...
Yeah, at the rate I'm saving all this money with the "great deals" on HF, I should be able to retire by the time I'm 85.
If your mother-in-law comes to visit, wanders into your bedroom, sees the eye bolts in the walls and ceiling and shoots you a very disgusted look. If you in turn wink at her, smile, and walk away......
That's like asking your drug dealer to cut you off when he thinks you've had too much! Honestly, I think this whole thing is a conspiracy. 90% of the people on here are actually vendors in...
Welcome from Utah County. Not a lot of us in Utah, but a few. I'm a Shug convert as well. Stumbled on to him on YouTube, and got addicted pretty quick. My wife tells me I should have gotten...
I've got both the Noah 9 and 12 and have never had a leak. Used the Noah 12 on a nine day hunt last year as a dining fly, rained almost solid seven of the nine days. Never had a leak. By the end,...
Great vid! Great editing! Nicely done.
Just don't be surprised if people start asking you questions about quilts and tarps. Better yet, play it up! "Yes, this is Adam. I didn't receive that payment for your Incubator, would you mind...
Ha, that's funny, I did the exact same thing! Forget about the heroic rescue, the adorable dog, and the heart-warming story, what kind of mods did the hammock have?:lol::lol:
I also...
Old Hiker: "I think I just stepped in bear poop."
Young Hiker: "How do you know it's bear poop?"
Old Hiker: "It's full of bells and smells like pepper!"
:lol::lol::lol::lol:
"By the way,...
Needless to say, I wouldn't want to make it to the finals, and then find out I was competing against Shug! The Michael Phelps of Hamma-crobatics!
Did I read somewhere that shipping was included with the Jarbridge, or am I just hallucinating again? Don't get me wrong, great deal either way, but I swear that I read "$80 shipped" somewhere. ...
If Brandon thinks we're going to forget about the bridge by distracting us with a tarp sale, he's sadly mistaken!:lol::lol: Now if he would like to revise the sale to something along the lines...
There are posts all over HF on ENO mods. For a ridge-line, I'd go straight for Dynaglide, Zing-It or Amsteel. To be able to dial in your lay, you don't want ANY stretch. You'll be surprised how...
I'm glad this forum is saving someone some $$$! It has cost most of us a fortune!
As for ENO trying to offer a more complete system to the market...good for them for trying. I would dare to...
Hanger from Utah County here...
To the REI question...I am in one of the two REI stores in Salt Lake about once a month(it's a bit of an addiction, almost as bad as HF). The only hammocks I have...
Welcome to the forum! You're not alone in Utah, there are a few of us here. I'm in northern Utah now, but originally come from Circleville in southern Utah. Beautiful state to hang in. This is a...
Thanks Postal! I assumed synthetic, but wasn't sure which kind. Cheers!
Sorry to show my ignorance...but what kind of fill is used in the New Rivers? I looked around the sight but couldn't find where it said. Thanks in advance!
Got to add my +1 to this thread. I started hammock camping last fall, and like so many noobs, I ran out and bought an ENO DN because they had them in stock at REI, and they were relatively cheap! ...
First of all, I second the day trip to Calf Creek Falls. Absolutely beautiful and a great hike. That being said, it is VERY popular! If your days are in the middle of the week, I say go for it. ...
I haven't noticed that I pee any more when spending a night in the hammock. Just that it is less convenient when I'm in the hammock, than when I'm in a tent. By less convenient I mean...I'm warm,...
Gotta be in the High Uintas, absolutely beautiful! You wont be disappointed. Keep us up to date with more info as it comes along. Maybe we can talk you into staying below timberline. :)
Thanks for the tip! (That cost me $55)
Glad to find a few more members in Utah. (met someone else in person last week, just came up in conversation) Someone with some extra time and ambition should organize a Utah hang this spring/summer....
I have the Noah12 and love it as a 4 season tarp. The tie-outs are GREAT! There are so many different configurations you can use this tarp in. I like multipurpose gear and the Noah tarps are great...
We love ya man! Group Hug!
Keep in mind Fronkey has around 3,300 posts! People know him and he has a following. A lot of the time I don't even read the title of the post. I just scan for...
That's great, I love the "what I will never do". Never say never, but if you do...don't admit it!
I'm currently saving my pennies for my first underquilt, and this is why my money will go to Stormcrow! Unmatched quality and integrity! In the countless hours I have spent reading posts on this...
I kept the bag on my double nest, it's just too handy to remove. For as much as I use it, the weight penalty is a non-issue. It's great for misc small items, and I usually store my pistol in there...
I love my DN. I don't consider it a noob hammock at all. Strip off the original suspension, and replace it with dyneema or your whoopies, and loose that stupid strap and buckle on the stuff bag,...
Welcome to the forum from Springville UT. This place is a wealth of information. As for for hanging your hammock in an older home, I wouldn't worry about. Many of the older homes in Utah have lath...
I can't speak to the tarp or the bug net, but I love my ENO DN. I found Shug's videos on you tube, and after watching the "newbie seminar" ran straight to REI and bought the ENO. Luckily my haste...
