Great time as usual!
If you like a flat walk through the middle of the woods it’s great!
If it’s just an overnight, I’d suggest the North Rim into Hobbs. The next day take the Connector to Stagecoach up to the South...
That quilt was manly...those shorts...
Took the Rim trail in and the Plateau out. We didn’t go into the gulf on the Savage leg, only on the Gizzard portion.
Sites 2,3 and 5. The...
Bump...never used.

Korporal, will you ensure the Oberst doesn't wear that orange ruck on our 100 km trip. We must evade the locals at all times.
Great trip as usual guys. Great video Grapenut.
I'm with you HNO, seems I recall not only policing my own debris, but packing out trash I found from other careless folks. Me thinks the loss of...
It was fun boys! I'm ready for the next one. Maybe BSF will get cleaned up for a summer outing...
Not far from my old stomping grounds before moving to these flatlands!
I'd suggest anywhere near Laurel Creek, Station Camp, Bandy Creek area. Twin Arches are nice as well. Post in the Southeast...

-30 wind chill factor here tonight. Looking, but still not sure folks.
He's been on some island hangs in Tennessee that remind me of a Marine barracks! He's fighting a bug, so likely won't make this one...and of course mom wants to verify it's not a group of axe...
I can bring pepperoni and another topping. Sausage crumbles info can find some. I won't be in until Saturday morning.
Hey folks,
Is this a kid-friendly hang? 6-year old Monkey Boy is dying to hit the trail. He's fighting a bug, so I don't know if he could make it anyway. Just getting a pulse?
Remember where the line starts Grapenut!
I hate that I missed the modern recreation of Pompeii. I'm sure there will always be a next time with our resident pyro; Col. ("They better not have let...
Those were some nice WHITE legs! Your avatar makes me want a Dr. Pepper 10...or to watch a Grizzly Adams episode Mr 'real' hiker:shades::lol:
I was with a bunch of hangers on the PMT carrying an extra 12 lbs of water this week only to find it everywhere on day two...
Be Prepared they say!
Okay folks,
I've been up here from Tennessee since May and I've only hung in Brown County, and I'm looking to meet some Midwest hangers.
I just got back yesterday from a trip on the Pine...
Roche, I suggest you finally look for something a little lighter...say lead, or kevlar! Oh, and were you the Cubmaster...or is his cold lifeless body merely missing? Has the boy crossed over? If...
Alright kids I'm eying this! I'm on a pretty short leash right now as I'm in the process of moving momma and turning my kids into yankees...err...Midwesterners.
I have an old canoe, but no Yak. ...
I'm keeping my eye on this one. Looks like Indy may be home in the next few months and my first transition week may be the Monday after the hang.
I'd love to roll into the JW on Sunday afternoon...
I had a great time guys, and was blessed to see my daughter make her commitment on Sunday.
As soon as I get this Indy stuff out of the way I'll start working on something for Savage Gulf. Early...
I had to sneak out due to prior commitment, but the rest of the crew should be at Overmountain tonight! Thanks MM!
Grubbing at Bob's Dairyland after night one...
Night ladies! Early morning for the Huntsville/Nashville crew! I can't wait.

We were children once, playing with toys
And the thing that you're hearing is only the sound of
The low spark of high-heeled boys:eek:
I'm packed and it's in the car. I believe I'll be toasty, but I'm not changing my rig!
I forgot you were a carpetbagger also! Good lord, someone help me this weekend! Serenity now...
Get off my lawn kid!!!
I'm fairly sure grapenut is a Yankee infiltrator, carpetbagger and all wrapped up into one. :D
Roche I figured you'd be wearing a swim suit (thong of course) as if the flowers bloom like the madness of spring.
I'll judge you all and make d@&n sure that no one judges me.
'72 was a good year!
Who is bringing the flute to the Knob?
...watching as the frilly panties run
Gotta love some JT. When Jim, Janice and Jimmy were all defiling their livers Ian was stowing his cash away. He made a killing in fisheries of all things!
This time next week we'll be in the thick of it. I'm coming, even if I need an iron lung! Still not sure on Saturday...I may have to scoot back to Nashvegas for something important. I'll know closer...
I plan on calling an audible that Saturday...peer pressure is welcome!
My lead weights...err...Navigator's arrived
70.4 oz per overshoe with Vasque Sundowner MX2 Goretex boot
54.0 oz per overshoe with Inov8 Roclite 319 trail shoe
51.4 oz per overshoe with Saucony...
Ordered the Navigators with Stabilicers. And picked up a balaclava. Never worn one if these...I feel claustrophobic already!
Roche can carry my log!
Spammy,
You need a Top Quilt in your sleeper...
...so are Navigators what all the cool kids are wearing? This is my key dilemma.
Wait a minute! I didn't see Roche light up a Camel all weekend? Is there something you aren't telling us...
Nobody likes a quitter Roche!

They may not get along as they appear way too similar...
IMO, yes but it's not as quick and easy in either setup or break down.
My cuben tarp has a Zing It continuous ridgeline spliced to a tarp fly on one end and a Dutch hook on the other. The guys are Z-Line and attach to the D rings with 200lb dyneema fishing line prusiks....
It's the short term memory loss that goes first MM! You should know this from your profession! ;-)
...Now, where did I put my keys...?
I won't be there for this one Neo, however I always subtract 6 to 8° for the temperatures up there this time of year. Better safe than sorry...
