Tarp ~ one Dutch Hook, one Dutch Flyz
Hammock ~ two toggles, two descender rings
I would go 11x11 personally but there wasn't anything really wrong in those pictures other that the hammock is slung way to low for my taste.
Gear perfection shouldn't be the goal over enjoying...
+1 on the Dutch Hook & Flyz exempt I do it with # 12 bank line which is cheaper, easier to knot if you have to and I carry a 200' spool as cordage already
I'm using French Prusick's (autoblock) as there easier, can be moved under load and they seem to bight better for me.
I've also switch to using #18 bank line for my ridge line. It's cheaper, has...
More than likely the woopies were tied into the hammock wrong and they did the slow crawl loose on him. I had that happen the first time I set mine up in the backyard and slept in it.
After...
I'm not sure I'd want to over complicate things if it was me.
I go super simple and use just a Dutch Hook, 30f of #18 bank line and two 12" bank line loops for french prusiks to tension the tarp...
Very nice knife to bad I've already got a folder coming for christmas or I'd pick it up.
Whoopies with tree straps and Dutch clips. It really dosent get easier than that.
I haven't pulled the toggles out of my tree straps yet so it's only a two step process to put the hammock up and...
I got my new ENO Singlenest in the mail today (thanks Chocolater!).
I ran out to hang it and did a double take. Those slapstraps might just be worse than the rope that comes with the DDHammocks...
There's an extra price sheet that they will send you once you register on the website and call but there pricing and inventory changes weekly so it's best to call a sales rep.
The version I bought...
**** you Dutch ... now I'm trying to price titanium D-rings online which will be a Chinese factory somewhere which can't be cheap.
I'm thinking the same thing WV - CT1K.18 from Cubic Tech.
~~~~
I went ahead and e-mailed Cubic Tech back and went with the CT1K.18 it turns out it's a bit cheaper and comes in black (at the...
Cuben can come in darker colors the one I'm looking at is a very dark green. While it's still a bit see-through it's not like the stuff Zpacks shows. I've attached a picture of the materiel I'm...
Your talking about something like this { Singer 4423 Heavy Duty } ?
That's neat stuff and only a dollar more a meter but puts you into the high 26 grams per meter range I'd like to stay in the the 17 to low 20's (20-23).
I'm thinking I might go with the CT1k.18...
CT1k.08 seems to be the fabric the cottage guys make there tarps out of (.52 oz) but CT1k.18 is more weather resistant for 3 grams more weight (.61 oz) and the price point per meter seems to be about...
Where did you buy your fabric rolls at ?
That's called YouTube video's, just do them more regularly.
Why did you have to put a link to your { tenkara-fishing.com } site and tempt me so? Wasn't you pleased enough that I ordered Amsteel and Utility Line from you last week?
But no you had to go and...
The only reason I didn't run my whoopies through the channels is that the continuous loop I added gives me nearly an extra foot before the 6' whoopies goes on the d-ring so I have a bit more wiggle...
You can buy a set of them from whoppiesling.com with a loop attached for $6
It's sold and paid for, sorry. It probably needs to have the titled changed to sold!
Yea I have a continues Amsteel loop with a D-ring inserted into it on both ends of my hammock that I tie the ridge line and whoppies to and it doesn't wight anything as far as I'm concerned, maybe...
Thanks now I'm going to have to buy some from you.
Then my wife will slap me silly and take them from me.
- Brad
How much would you want for it?
Sure you'll paypal/conus a hammock but will you do the same with the truffles ??
PM sent.
My DD Camping hammock's suspension rope (it's not webbing) really sucked and I've only had it for about two weeks maybe. It stretched so bad from just some light day hanging in the backyard plus they...
I didn't see any point to it. I bought the Camping Hammock and love it.
If I had to ground camp with it for some crazy reason I'd use a couple of large 3mil black trash bags as a ground cloth...
Thanks guys! I was thinking about replacing the whoppiesling with stock 1.75 Zing-It once I figure out the proper length, now I'll go ahead and buy some.
I'll buy a 24oz if you get a paypal account created.
Doh!~! I just got it thanks guys!
I need to run the continual loop+d-ring through the large whoopie sling loop without any type of larks head or knot it's not like it's a true load-bearing rope...
Here's a stupid question ...
How do you tie a whoopiesling as a hammock ridge line?
~
I bought a ridge line from whoopieslings.com not realizing it would be a (you guessed it!) whoppiesling...
Yea it was supposed to be a garda hitch but I'm thinking I probably didn't do something right. The other side held without a problem.
I wasn't comfortable with just a larks head on the d-ring but...
I've had my hammock for a couple of weeks now and have been taking it down and putting it back up every day or so in the back yard and then WAM! it bits me ;)
I was laying in the hammock last...
My favorite is to not knot it :) I use a Dutch Clip on the tree straps instead of a knot or a sewn loop and camaraderie. It's fast and easy.
No you wouldn't need anything else but the dutch clip makes it easier/faster to attach your tree straps without needing to knot it or sew a loop on one end plus easier to adjust when I hook my pack...
I'm sure that makes since to most of you, but could you repeat that in English for us newbies (or at least this newbie)?
I'd be interested in some pics? (I'm on the fence and needing a reason to buy :)
Well this sucks, now that I just ordered a flyz Dutch needs to come up with a new product for me to buy.....
I've had my DD Hammcock up for a week now and I'd bet the " almost a straight line from tree to tree with no-one inside" recommendation is because the stock rope sucks so ungodly bad. I had read it...
Thanks Raiffnuke, for some reason I was thinking a Clove Hitch had to have tension on both sides of the rope.
What knot do you use to tie the SRL to the descender rings?
Wow those rings are huge! I just got my descender rings in from { Whoopieslings.com } there tiny compared to those and do the exact same thing with the added
bonus of having a continuous loop of...
I picked the hammock up from the Fedex facility, luckily they are open until 11:00pm on the weekdays. I made the mistake of taking my wife (we car pool) after work and she rolled her eyes when I...
Its a bit strange I have packages delivered all the time and for allot more than this hammock is worth without any problems they just leave it at the door so the shipper had to go out of his way on...
I paid $59.00 for the "DD Camping Hammock" on the 14th which lists for $25 pounds on the website.
I'm sure the hammock will be nice if I ever get it but who in there right mind thought it was a good idea to require a signature on delivery of a less than $50 item?
I work for a living so I can't...
