Which Hot Springs? NC, AR, NK, Etc.
The one between New Albany and Houston is the Tanglefoot trail. You wouldn't want to camp or hike on it. Have you thought about Big Hill Pond in Pocahontas, tn? It's not too far from Tupelo.
When we went there, we hiked at FCF but camped at Savage Gulf. We formed a hammock wall by using he same four trees and did all our cooking inside the assembly.
Fall creek falls was kind of...
I'm 37 years old
This, absolutely. I have a big pile of stuff that didn't work out that I don't even want to think about how many hours of my time it took to earn what it took to pay for that pile. I guess I'm a...
I think it may also have something to do with the image of the product. Folks that visit this site have had their eyes opened to cooler packing mechanisms than just a simple envelope stuff sack, and...
In my opinion, the Sipsey Wilderness is far more impressive than Tishomingo State Park, but it would require a lot more hiking rather than driving up and camping right by a parking lot.
This sounds great. I'd love to make a hang in the Sipsey after the bugs shove off. Tishomingo sounds good too, I grew up not too far from there. Sign me up!
Glad to hear it! Now order something from Mountain Laurel Designs and see if you can beat your current score :)
It's time to take a stand. Add for me and my family, we will use polyester tee straps.
Hey fellow Memphian, welcome to the forum! I think there are a couple of twisty roads up in Cordova.

The middle piece that you see in the picture is a piece of PVC pipe that I have covering the ends of two lengths of top rail. One length of the rail has a large wooden dowel fixed to the inside of...
Hey folks, thought I'd post a picture of my Tdog stand. I drove up to St. Louis to visit a particular shop that sells neat bikes and had to stay in a hotel. I let the tricycles stay in the bed and I...
Welcome, you have much to learn.
According to a Google search that led me to the product's web page (http://www.buttinasling.com/bias-camper-hammock--red.html), it weighs 12 oz.
Zpacks makes an 8x8 and an 8.5x8.5. They're expensive.
Huh. My BMBH looks exactly like this when I'm hanging in it.
Have a great trip
Hey, I wanted to pull this thread up from the deep again with a price update. Amazon has these now for $99 with free shipping.

I also like the included stuffsack a lot. I think it's more practical than the medium-sized speedsacks.
Ah, my apologies.
Seam sealing comes at an extra cost now:

My wife and I have both models. The spreader bars are a bit harder to put into the rings on the deluxe model. The spreader bars on the UL model practically fall into place. I am not sure if this is a...
Great trip report, thanks! I love ERL. Your descriptions of Athens-Big Fork are entirely accurate, those are some big old hills :D
just dont go there when it is snowing and you should be fine. We went there one weekend in February driving a Toyota Prius and it snowed. A lot. We started at Winding Stairs and were going...
I think that using a line level sounds like a great idea! I'm going to try that out.
Memphis contingent reporting in
Hey, welcome to HF! I have one of your saws and I think it's really cool.
Here are a couple of pictures I took of the AHE HUG

My brain cannot get over the idea that 1/8" is "better" than 7/64" because of its increased breaking strength, so I use 1/8". I assure myself that the thinner diameter cord is fine but I feel more...
Oh cool more Memphians! (and Eadsians!) Welcome to HF!
I'd like to get back over to Big Hill Pond and check it out. I haven't been there in a long time.
Ben
A portal gun would reduce the need to send yourself bounce boxes. And with a gravity gun you could just shoot your pack to the next campsite! Awesome.
Huh. Camping on one of those islands looks pretty cool! Have any of y'all ever done this at Lake Ouachita? I bet my wife would like to do that.
Sweet! I think I just bought one. I had my eyes closed but I pushed the button.
I have a short length of cord tied to each end of my tarp at the ridgeline tieout points. I just use an adjustable grip hitch to connect that to my CRL. It's really easy, strong, and quick.

I gotta say that I've been really happy with the way that Brian and Shane have treated me. They made me two 11' hammocks and had them to me in just a couple of days, and they still gave me the HF...
Three of us (two hangers) are on the way over to do the Skyway/Chinnabee/Pinhoti loop right now because Arkansas is being wiped of the map this weekend.
Ugh nevermind, I was just reminded that we're registered for a half marathon the same weekend as this hang. Sorry for pooping on the thread with these updates. Y'all have a good trip!
Well now I think that I'm going to be back on for this trip and my wife wants to come too and bring the dogs. We'd arrive Saturday morning/noon. She and I are both doing this low-carbohydrate diet...
Looks awesome! How long is the ridgeline on that?
Hey gang, this isn't a "real" trip because Shelby Farms is just a municipal park that closes at night, and we didn't go too far from the parking lot. However, it's a fun place to go and try stuff out...
That is awesome! Thanks to you guys for doing that. I love Sipsey Wilderness and appreciate all of the good work that the scouts and other volunteers do to keep it up.
Guys I just fell off the list, some other obligations came up that I can't miss. I wish I could make to to hang out with y'all again this year but I can't. Have a great time!
Hey I liked your page way back in February! But I already have a red Camper hammock so I'm good. :)
The three words I want to hear are "Sure go ahead", as in:
Ben: Hey baby can I go backpacking this weekend?
Ashley: Sure, go ahead!
Hello from Memphis!
I don't think it would be too bad. Productivity already stops when a vendor takes time to send out shipping notices. If a system was put into place that updates both the shipping notifications and...
I think an online queue showing outstanding vs. completed orders would give any vendor a huge edge up on the competition, especially so for this particular market.
I think it's awesome that you put your doormat on the ground next to it :shades:
