I had a go and found it difficult to make whoopies until saw a tip on the forums for using the inner wires of a telephone cable as a type of fid.
this reduced the exercise from a frustrating...
I know this is not the full insulation that you may be talking about but it has got an insulated layer built in.

I have a TW hammock and have just made whoopie slings to try out. I have noticed that when I larkshead the whoopie sling into the hammock channel and hang it I get a lot more of a ridge up the middle...
went out for a hike the other day mainly jsut to get my head showered, but also to keep an eye out for potential sites.
Went up the hills above Belfast and had a fantastic morning. the sun even came...

Whoopie slings scare me - very thin and I haven't built that kind of confidence yet.

The access can be a little tight' but there are some great places to go.
