Oldgringo, I'm with you on the GT Fan Club. The GT Doubles are the best sleeping hammocks I've ever owned. If I find a better one I'll definitely get it but hasn't happened yet. My HH Explorer and WB...
One just gets the impression reading some of these threads that GT, ENO, etc...are frowned upon because their the "big" guys.
I have nearly a dozen hammocks now including a couple cottage brand...
I don't get the cottage snobbery that seems to go on. GT make awesome hammocks, some of my favorites.
Gotta do that spring hang soon !!! Before the skeeters hit hard.
It's pretty nice but not perfect.
I used it once already on an overnight in one of Keji's backounty sites two weeks ago.
I like the material, very nice, good construction. I got the double...
How did you do it ?
I just realized, the ribbon on the XLC is used to tie the bug netting out of the way when not used.
Did my first outing with the new XLC this weekend. Used my HG Phoenix. On the XLC right side there is a ribbon hanging on the outside which I assume is for anchoring an under quilt somehow. It lines...
Winter will not let go !!! My new XLC is finally in country, should have it Monday.
I can set you up with a ride no problem if need be. Heres a video of us out at Cape Split last spring.

Yes, that is an option too. Any of you been out to Cape Split for a night ?
Hennessy is SOLD !!! Ordering my new WB XLC today !!
Well, I've got my Hennessy up for sale right now. Will take the proceeds and order the XLC. I may sell one of my others off as well.
Good to see some people in this thread finally. Hopefully if worlds align I'll have my new Warbonnet XLC for the trip.
Ok, I see it on the map now. Sounds good. How about some time in the future when the snow is gone for the most part and the nights are at least 0 C or above. I only have a 3/4 underquilt at this...
Where is Granite Lake ? Is that just off the 101 out by Mt. Uniacke ? Been out there before I take it ?
I use a piece as a ridge line but yes it does stretch, a lot !! I have it adjusted now that after it stretches its the perfect length. I really only use it to hang my ditty bag and headlamp.
It's only mid-Jan and I'm getting the bug. Anybody planning a spring hang out here on the east coast ?
Hello from Beaver Bank, NS !
Hey, I'm in Nova Scotia but I'm from Moncton and get up fairly often.

Then comes the "can't be satisfied with what I got" in me and I picked up and ENO DN. This was going to be my "summer" hammock and I got to modding it........suspension...
I have a like new Hennessy Explorer Deluxe Asym Zip w/snake skins. Bought it late last summer and slept in it only three times now. Absolutely like new, no stains, rips, punctures, anything...
Hey Brother. I'm 265 and 6" and I own a Henn Exp. I would recommend the WBBB I simply cannot get my legs comfortable with the design of the Henn.
I hiked the Kenomee Canyon Trail in Nova Scotia last weekend. Still trying to work the kinks out of my Hennessy. Heel pain is keeping me from a good sleep. Almost considering a WarBonnet w/footbox or...
I not sure what to do about the UQ issue. I notice there is a plastic ring on both sides of the HG 3/4 UQ which I assume are there to fasten it to the side of the hammock. The Hennessy Explorer has...
Yes, I believe your right about the head end being too high. My early morning adjustments were not enough to fully correct my problem. Something to look for next time. Maybe one of the those compact...
I think what I may do is bring along one of those small line levels in my pack, the type that attaches right to the ridgeline. That way I can level myself even in the dark and then just raise the...
Hey all,
I was out for my first back woods hang in my Hennessy Explorer Deluxe Zip and had a minor problem. I seemed to be continually sliding down with my feet reaching towards the end of the...
Whats left ?
I was looking at the te-wa and it doesn't look nearly as nice as the Hammock Gear Phoenix and it's barely any more $.
I'm not against DIY but I want minimal size as well, not condusive to DIY usually.
Yeah, its good advice but I just can't get comfy with the pad in the hammock. I think an UQ is the way to go for me.
OK, been doing some internet window shopping and looking at different suggestions. I need to pull the trigger pretty soon.
Jarbridge 30F / $95 / 20oz / 42x58" / Synth
te-wa 40F / $135 / 10oz /...
Do you think the cut and suspension would be good for a Hennessy Explorer ? What size does it pack down to ?
Does anybody have any experience with the Jarbridge 3/4 UQ from Kickass Quilts ? $95 bucks for a synthetic seems quite cheap compared to the $175 and up down UQs.
Hummm,..I've done a few practice hangs in my garage and I'm not keen on the pads due to the breathability. How much would I be looking at to get into a 3/4 UQ or full size if the price is right. It...
Would this be the time to use a 3/4 UQ or will it be to warm for summer?
I have a Hennessy Explorer Deluxe that I will be using this summer for a few 2 night outings. My concern is keeping warm at night. I have a 40F down bag that I will be using and I don't anticipate...
Hey all,
Well I received my Hennessy and I've had some time to play. The first thing I noticed is that the material really seems to be bunched up at the center. Is this a symptom of the Asym...
Would a wool blanket work as well as a CCF pad ? I think it would cause me to sweat much less as I have read that the pads are bad for that.
Hello everyone, new user looking for some advice.
I've been contemplating breaking into the hammock camping experience for some time now and I finally went whole hog and bought two setups to do...
