Glad it found a good home! :)

And one Rhode Island Canuck ;)
Looking forward to hanging with everyone again. Hopefully these non-stop Nor'easters will have tapered off by then...
Haha. It wasn't *that* bad. I think the tale has just grown in the re-telling...
I've had good goat! I was referring to a canned curried goat which Chard attempted to poison me with at the first EGL hang many moons ago. :)
He's more than made up for it since then though. ...
Curried goat on the other hand... ;)
But seriously though, you should make your way down here for a hang some time! Great bunch of people!
Yeah, I figured 50 people meant ~75 hammocks. I think that tape will hold for the weekend. Fingers crossed for luck in the raffle!
Safe drive!
Thanks for the offer but we're going into town for dinner so I'll pick some up there. The fabric is far more stretchy than my Hennessey. I set it up at "normal" height, almost bottomed out when I...
So colossal bell-end that I am, I immediately put a hole in my new Chameleon... :cursing: It's under my calves so I'm not at great risk of falling through (assuming I can find some duct tape...),...
Oh! Perfect. Not sure how I managed to miss that post (I'm pretty dumb for a smrt guy...) I somehow had it in my head that we were all just spreading out in a piney bit of the property.
One more sleep! :woot:
What's the BBQ/firepit situation going to be like on Thursday night? I should be rolling in by 3:00 or so, assuming traffic past Boston isnt terrible (so, in reality...
They've apparently started getting stocked in Toronto area Costcos in the past little while. Worth checking out your local one.
The brand is "Double Black Diamond". There are a couple sellers in Amazon but they're pretty overpriced. If you posted on the "Want to buy" subforum you might find someone who would ship you a...
Yeah, they're pretty great. The next lightest set of quilts I have are a Karo pattern with 1" baffles which is way too hot for most of the year here...
Survived a night at -25C (-18F) using DIY down quilts (Karo step, 2.5" baffles). Not super keen to do that again. -5C (23F) overnight is really no problem though.
Yup, those are the ones. Wasn't too fond of the color selection but the non-shiny side of the light blue is actually quite nice.
Had a great time with these. There were probably better ways to rip seams which wouldn't have released thousands of half inch bits of blue thread into my apartment... And I'm going to be vacuuming...
Thanks Gil. Sorry I missed you Sunday morning! I've already added my name to the list for Maine.
Hi All. Thanks for the warm welcome. I had a great time meeting everyone and am counting the days until the Lobster Hang!
My father worked in a small grocery store for about 30 years. My High School Biology classroom had a huge jar full of all of the Banana Spiders that had somehow managed to make their way up to...
I picked a bad week to become a vegetarian... :crying
No worries. I'm just looking for a name to give to the folks at the office. I don't necessarily have to stay on that particular site.
Yeah, got wondering about this as I was trying to get to sleep last night... Could a siteholder PM me their last name, or put it on the spreadsheet, for check-in purposes?
Sounds perfect. Sneaking out of work early so should be there between 4 and 5.

Sounds good!
Is there any site in particular that would be a good place for a squatter? I've never been to this park so I don't know how the sites compare for usable trees.
Looking forward to getting up there on Friday and meeting everyone!
Beauty!
Nope nope nope nope
Quiet, that is... holy heck... 16km double carry?!?! Glad you made it out safely!
Hi all. Anyone have room for one more on their site? First hang in the North East but was one of the founding members of the Eastern Great Lakes group in Ontario.
Cheers

Yeah, I've been looking at the regulations in the Whites. Seems a bit bonkers coming from Ontario where the backcountry rules are super strict. Some of the more heavily used areas must be pretty...
Hi Dave, I've heard of Arcadia but have never been. If you need a trail buddy some day let me know.
Hi all! I'd really like to find some local hammocking folk. It seems like camping opportunities in RI are few and far between, but I'd love to get to know some spots in the surrounding states with...
Hi All. I'm moving down to Providence next week to start a new job at Brown and would love to meet some people who share my love of hanging from trees. I've been active in the Eastern Great Lakes...
Hi guys.
This post is probably going to get moved, but it seemed like a good way to reach my target audience.
This week received a job offer from Brown University in Providence Rhode Island,...
I'll going to try to make it out this year. Dates should work for me.
yeah, we definitely needed a toggle to pull the bag up, so using it to secure it is a great idea. I used a cove hitch to attach toggle to the line.
Awesome trip! Thanks to OldBoot for her patience during my first time at the stern. After a few spins figuring things out at the dock, and one 90 degree course-correction in the middle of the lake...
Anyone wanna borrow a squirrel cooker for the weekend? (someone needs to hold my creditcard for my for a few weeks after these trips...)
I believe someone was able to text out last year? Here is Pen Lake from Jeff's Algonquin Map. The Red Circle next to the Night Lake portage is where we were last year. Its a great site for a...
Heh. This is going to be dodgy enough as I've never steered a canoe before... I'm worried a third person and we'd just be doing circles at the dock!
Oldboot and I will be at Rock between 12-1 as well.
Well, if you don't mind taking the scenic route, you're welcome to share a boat with me. I've got no problem portaging the canoe.
Seems like we've got too many people looking for the bow... I'm willing to give the stern a try though. I've been wanting to learn anyway.
Unfortunately my buddy is not going to be able to make it :( With ggreaves dropping out too I have no boat. Anyone need a bow paddler? I could also just rent one and head in on Thrusday if...
Could do a pork shoulder or something. Back country pulled pork sandwiches!
The one we were on last year was pretty great too. Lots of nicely spaced trees Long rocky beach.
