Looks like one HAPPY dog! :)
It turned out really nice - great job!
How do you have your two hammocks set up?
Are you using spreader bars to keep them apart? It's hard to tell from the pictures.
Congratulations! That is one nice looking tarp.
I've only made a hex tarp so far, so I haven't had to deal with doors yet. But, it seems to me like adding extra length to all three sections...
I just came across this thread, and wanted to offer some encouragement. There are a lot of threads about making quilts on here, but I don't think any of them cover all of the little details. When I...
Hello - and welcome from Eastern Arizona!
Good luck, Brian!
You sound like a real stand-up guy.
Now that's a great idea! There should be an AA degree somewhere for this!
Thanks for taking the time and extra effort to share your trip with us!
Couple of great videos! Keep 'em coming. (Love the music, too!)
Since everyone's going in circles anyway, I don't feel so bad about hijacking the thread long enough to say that I had a good chuckle over this one:
I had no idea there was even such a thing...
Awesome - good job!
It's amazing what you can learn from the internet these days. :)
Thanks, Scott!
I really like your illustrations. They're always easy to follow.
Never hang higher than you're willing to fall. :D
Great story - thanks!
I buy mine from DIY Gear Supply, since I'm usually ordering a bunch of other stuff at the same time.
...another bump.
I stumbled across this again, and I think it was even funnier this time around.
Welcome, Chief!
I agree with Bubba. As long as you choose quality components, you have a lot of suspension options available.
You're off to a good start - if I remember correctly, I think...
That's a great picture - it'd make for a great caption contest. ;)
When I mentioned making a hammock, several people made comments about tying knots. It wasn't until much later that I realized they were picturing a net-style hammock, and not talking about...
Wow! Nice work - That looks really great. :D
I agree :thumbup1:
I'd guess the coupon code is a part of the new website software that they just started using, rather than any kind of special deal. Their prices are already like sale prices....
Good job!
Here are a couple of others you might consider:

Welcome home - from AZ!
Sorry, I'm probably not much help. Mine is a rectangular one that's only 24" wide. I just put it between hammock layers at an angle. Occasionally, it'll just miss my outside shoulder, but it...
I'd either try a shorter ridgeline or a seat belt. :D Probably shouldn't hang over water for a while, either.
Seriously, though, are you rolling off the edge, or is it flipping over with you?
Me, too.
I think it depends on what else you have.
I've been down to about 18 degrees with a pad and poncho liner UQ, but the sleeping bag I normally use doesn't compress at all, so I...
Thanks for all the work that you put into this. I'm in the planning stage, and this helps a bunch!
I thought maybe it was because of the overfill, but I just noticed you said the baffles...
Me, too! :D
Definitely time for some field testing, but I think I'll go with 80.7%
I'm starting to think that the hammocks aren't all that's strung too tight around here.
...just kidding,...
I have a set of those, too. Never tried the cord that comes with them, though.
I thought the figure-9 would be a quick way to tie off & tension my tarp ridge line. It seems to work OK, but the...
Great job! ...And thanks for the link.
+1 on the cheap upholstery needle from Wally World. I've used it for everything from Amsteel down to mason line.
It looks like WOOT sells only one item each day and then it's gone.
From the FAQ on their website:
If you're out camping and you start wondering whether you're car camping....
then you probably are.

It looks like he addded a section of shock cord to the Nite Ize figure-9 tent line kit:

Yeah, well...
I guess Thursdays work for me, too.
Might as well add me to the list.
:o
That's just too funny!!!
Thanks for sharing your story, Arson.
...and thank God for the kindness of strangers.
As for the hammock, I highly recommend the plans and materials from www.diygearsupply.com.
I've made a couple of double-layer hammocks from their plans. They're really comfortable.
No problem. I think this is the same area.
Too bad it's half-way across the state from where I live. Looks like a great place.
Is this the one you're looking for? Link
Welcome from AZ!
It's good to see so many people still involved in scouting on here.
Kids grow up so fast...
Welcome!
I pretty much did the same thing. I was looking for tarp patterns when I came across some of Shug's videos. I did eventually make a tarp, but I had to make a couple of hammocks first....
Thanks for making these available, Shug! I always enjoy the music in your videos.
(REALLY glad the tarp rap wasn't in there, though)
Good job - looks great!
It's all Shug's fault. I was just looking for a tarp pattern.
Next thing I knew, I was hanging in the piney woods under clear skies and a full moon, wondering how I got there. ;)
Thanks from AZ!
Thank you!
Don't fight it... It only gets worse when you do. :D
Seriously, though, it's amazing how much information you can find these days for making things...
Thank you! There sure are a lot of great people here.
BWAHAHAHA!!! :sneaky:(twirling evil moustache...)
Thank you!!
Thanks! I've been to Vancouver on a business trip before, but that's about the extent of my travels up north. The highlight was getting to see a Canucks game while I was there. Gotta love Canadian...
Thanks, guys! I bet there's a good percentage here that got started because of Shug's videos. He's pretty entertaining for a clown.
Thanks, Shug, but IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!!! ;)
Seriously,...
