Thanks Brute!
So as I left the second campsite today due to failing gathered end knots ive determined I need help. What knot do I need to use? Having a bit of a brainfart since last fall when I last used it as a...
The U/L is a good choice for that too! :D
Is correct I own both. The GT Tree Slings are 5mm cord while the ENO Slap Straps are actual straps. The GT Tree Slings do come with straps that cover the area of cord that wraps around the tree.

Just in case any want to see the OMW setup I have some pictures of it in my album. Great piece of gear I love mine!
Ha ha. Ill be fine. He is still just chillin and I gave him the rest of my dinner if he will eat it.. Figured I would head off any midnite munchie runs he decides to make. Saw a bunch of squirrels...
So I had just finished setting up and seam sealing my WL Old Man Winter Tarp and was feeling quite proud. Suddenly I heard liquid hitting the ground a few feet away from my tarp. Wait a minute,...
This was my next question also.. Glad it was answered. Until I were able to get a dynaglide or amsteel ridgeline can they be made with general cordage? 550 or guyline? I can't seem to find any...
Thanks bro! I'm sure I will most definitely enjoy it, any excuse to get outside is a good excuse in my book.
Well I got mine today fellas. What a turnaround time. Can't wait to try it out..
An interesting development, When I was ordering the site said they were out of the green which bummed me a little...
All of this arrived today. Thermarest Ridgerest (Again.. Second one I own, first is on loan), Etowah II Alcohol Stove, Camp Life in the Woods book, and my WL Old Man Winter tarp.. Looks like a hang...
+1 on checking out Shug's videos. And you can't go wrong trying the Grand Trunk Ultralight initially. The price point is perfect for someone just checking them out. Be aware, some larger members...
Weird, I'm 6'1" and I haven't had a problem in my UL yet.. Time to bust out the Hybrid Hammock which is much bigger and see how I like that.. But no issues for me with my ultralight..
Thanks Backtrack, good to know!
So if I just ordered one, does that mean I'm screwed if I wanna try one of WL's Owl hammocks as well later on down the road?
Ditto the above, what Outnbout said.. If it werent' for the Mods this site wouldn't be what it is. Kudos and Shug helps to with his comic relief as well. Helped me get situated and cozy in my hang...
Also ordered one. Will be getting it in brown soon. I'm pretty excited about it.
I have the Wiggy's liner that uses Lamilite. It's slightly warmer (that I can remember haven't used a service liner in a few years) than the issue liner. I also use it with a solar blanket and a...
Used mine in mid 30s for a bit last night. But I was wearing lots of layers with fleece and used a 40deg bag as well.
Went out last night to test some kit out and see where I need improvement at. Was a good night and the only issue was the fact I didnt bring gloves and I didn't bring a true ridge-line (Bonehead...
I also got mine today as well. Great piece of gear
I'm 6' and almost 200lbs but for me the singlenest is fine. I was kind of shocked at how big it was, personally.
I also use my setup for less weight/room on my bike as well. I have a Bushcraft USA 10x10 tarp. You can't go wrong with the suggestions you have got so far.
As they went down further last night... The Slapstraps stretch? Really?? Interesting.. I think I'll be changing suspension just cause I don't wanna have to always worry if I'm hanging it high enough...
I've used the straps for the last few nights and aside from the first night, after readjusting they haven't stretched anymore. It has held the height it's been at now for a few days. I don't mind...
Cheers guys. For me personally, the singlenest is fine. Weight is not really an issue as I can take everything I need for camping on my motorcycle, I needn't streamline anymore than that. I...
Thanks for all the warm welcomes all. Michigan guys, I'll be doing lots of camping this summer as it's cheaper than hotels for work and the company doesn't reimburse. Plus, it's just better to be...
Thanks, I was aware they would stretch took that into account.. I personally like my hammock to sag almost to the ground, but that's just me. :D
Hey all,
My name is Nick. For my job this summer I'll pretty much be living out of my ENO. I'm stoked to have it and have loved hammocks for years. Look forward to hanging with ya'll fellow...
Hey all,
Decided to take the plunge and get a hammock this summer. I got the SingleNest with Pro Straps and the Bug Guardian. This is it setup in my backyard.. A nice thunderstorm tonight...
