I like at least 6" preferably more. I use a mini spreader bar 90% of the time so I tend to use a shorter hammock than most (8.5') so this gives me plenty of wiggle room.

The major issue with two seams is getting them matched up, if the sewing machine tension is out it can end up shrinking one side. It's probably best to sew the panels before cutting the shape / cat...

It's a blessing and curse !
The puckering on this one was purely down to speed, just a rush job. I spent about an hour and £2 on it.
A ridgeline seam is easy to do but harder to get perfect and looking pretty
No I just added extra grosgrain to the edges both top and bottom. I may do an extra reinforcement later though.
It does make for really nice and secure pull-outs. The tie-outs where the ridgeline would normally be don't feel as strong, part of me just wants to crank it and see when they break!
