For house hammocks....I like the old school central american woven ones. All the weaves minimize pressure points. The bigger the better. I have a solid black one from Guatemala I love in...
I am a certified arborist and am amazed at how well hippies climb trees. Two hundred feet up a redwood in 5 minutes and then don't come down for three years. I want to go up there and live too. ...
Seems like a not for profit ENO. Fair enough. Their tarp design is one of the most unique i have seen. Possibly good for the tropics. But in Wyoming?......the first ever flying hammock setup....
I am of the same mind set. Dual mode bedding. My Warbonnet fails all the time, the critical design flaw being it needs too trees to function properly. So I carry a a light bivy as well.
I have...
How about just a simple A frame srung over one of your hammock ends with a ccf floor. Then a polargaurd quilt held up at one end so the beast can get under it? Wind & water proofed & insulted.
My dog (deseased) had had his own ccf and I would throw a blanket over him.
But I was thinking that the REI dog tent could be made light enough for adog to carry along with some dehydrated dog...
The entrance hole at the bottom of the Hennessy is very annoying when it is dark and cold. The zipper mod will take care of that.
It smooths out the rocking a bit, and makes it easier to embrace it (go with the flow). Does not work well with the up and down whilst the boat is steaming though. Probably a better set up for...
Thank you Maestros. Exactly what I wanted to know. (OR was the distributor now Exped doing it their own selves).
SlowHike. Fantastic. Prime intel source. If that rep contacts you, ask him...
Nobody at ENO knows when that jungle hammock is coming out. I suspect someone at the factory in China made off with the prototype and plans.
Lots of Embers about. Tyyoe NEST EMBER into Google...
Does anybody know what the deal is with Exped anyway? Are they some splinter fraction of Outdoor Research or what?
A non-compete clause would explain why 90% of their stuff is only available...
Have not used one myself, but here is a link to a discussion on the Exped one. Check out Warbonnet's.

Downmat DLX is great in a Hammock. Almost like a water bed hammock. Kind of heavy though. The short DM (with some shoulder foam) is good in a Hennessy as it does not obstruct the ******* hole.

Easist thing (if you got the cash) would be to order a ridge and some guys from Opie. I Recently just bought one of his ridgelines, and it makes set up easy. And you can use a stick to push one end...
If it happens let me know. I have a magical mosquito repelling feather that my grand father got in BoraBora during the War. I will send you half of it.
I only read the abstract of said studies...
I am from New Mexico / Colorado, where mosquitos usually are bearable, Ants are more of a problem. Nothing like waking up with an army ant clamped to your huevos. And the little black ones will...
The Hennessy pads are squishy and will get mashed between the layers. The minicell skins Warbonnet recomends work well and rolls up fairly small once trimmed a bit. I've used that stuff a few times...
Underoos sold. Thread done.
Hennessy gone. Will probably throw the MSR on Ebay soon, as not many here will likely want a tarp the size of a house.
Stuff;
Hennessy Expedition Asym 2.5 - Well cared for, in good condition. Missing the tie off twine on one of the slap straps. In top shape otherwise. $75 post paid.
MSR Outfitter Wing. A...
I believe dude said the coyote ones will ready with the next batch...couple of weeks?
Also I know a chiropractor and he thinks the best bed for backs is a piece of firm foam (placed on a box...
The weight, price, and mesh all seem right on. The stuff is light weight and will keep the bugs out. Not sure if Nanoseeum (TM) comes in beige or blue though.
I have a MSR Outfitter Wing, a Hennessy Expedition Asym, ENO pro straps, a set of Cabelas down underwear, a Filson Duster coat (could be made into a hammock coat!).
I was not into the grey either...
Big Agnes Sleeping bags have that pad pocket, and I just stick my downmat in there. Works great. Basically what you are doing now. Cannot sprawl out, (like always in a bag) but very warm.
...
OK..I need 15 posts before I can legally sell stuff here..so I'll write about color as that is one of the hardest characteristics to convey over the internet.
I went over to the Warbonnet...
OK. Thank the three of you. Immensely. I am feeling much more comfortable with the project now. I'll just sew the edges, and if any problems ever present in the future, tack then. No...
Found a couple of references to no quilting needed here and at WhiteBlaze. That is good. Trust people here 100X more than pinche kifuru.
Hoi all. I am making a blanket of Momentum and Climashield. And for reasons of warmth and longevity, would really prefer not to quilt it, and only sew around the perimeter. Is this a bad idea?
...
The exped site says it weighs 21 ounces (near a full pound more than WB's). That thing had better be able to keep out grizzly bears and deflect stray bullets. And trying to get out in the dark...
I will likey be there the same time. Camped out Bridge Creek way. Stop by if you see my gear, and we'll have a drop or two to mark the occasion.
I am going to Stehekin in late summer as well. With some family, to scatter the ashes of an old timer who loved it there. That place is a hangers paradise. You have firm dates yet?
If two Nests have 5" of total loft and one Winters Nest has 4" of loft ...seems like two Nests should be good for sub-zero. Unless one gets compressed.
