If it is going to be particularly cold, I'll throw a poncho liner over my ridgeline, tied off at the foot of my hammock. It will come all the way up till about a foot on the other end.

i threw a poncho liner over my ridgeline, and was able to have the same effect as the fleece.
I was wondering, how long you can keep down compressed and it not lose its' loft? Any input appreciated.
Look into the Dutch hook system. The heaviest thing in the system are the tree huggers. You can find it on the Dutchware website.
It's the second link that has what you described.
What can it charge?
More likely, "What happens when it rains?"
Technically, a Superfly is a mamajamba, but with doors attached. True, the Superfly is large, but if you plan on winter camping, go with the Superfly, because those doors are invaluable. In the...
If your not by a body of water, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. If you do find yourself hanging near a body of water, just look around before getting out.
Thanks. Got just what I needed.
Where can I find the rope used here in a 50 foot hank?
I'm sure this may have been covered before, but I recently got my new quilt and was wondering, how do you rig it? Any and all opinions will be considered. Thanks!
Thanks for the offer, ibgary, but i found one online. Thanks for the link, Fallkniven.
So, planning on adding some things to my hammock and it will barely fit into its bag anymore. Where can I find a good bishop bag?
Which is better: polyester or nylon? Or, tubular webbing? I plan on using 4-foot straps, and then Dutch's system of amsteel and Dutch hooks, so essentially the Dutchware system.. Thanks for the...
I have used fleece liners on one trip, and it was a big mistake not testing it first. I can tell you right now that they do nothing for the wind. If a breeze comes by, it saps your heat. If you have...
I definitely reccomend the Warbonnet Superfly. It's only 130, and it is very large, and it is alot lighter than the Hennesy tarps.
That is simply one of the most creative things I have seen to solve the problem of camping in a field. Amazing. When you mentioned geodesic sphere, i thought of a playground dome. Very ingenuitive....
Thanks for all the links, and I've decided to go with Under Ground Quilts. The pricing is very reasonable, and the weight is amazing. Thanks for all of your help, guys.
Ive been looking for an underquilt for sometime, and I know that I'd like a full length quilt, 6'6" long, as I am 6'3". I don't need a 20 or below, as I live in Florida. 30-40 degrees would be fine,...
I've been looking on YouTube at the Superfly, and I've seen that some have doors that snap on, and others that are sewn on. Can I get a Superfly with snap on doors, or are they all sewn on? Cause I...
I've settled on either AHE's Toxaway tarp or warbonnets superfly.
im looking more into sil-nylon.
Im new to the overnight hammock camping scene, so before that, Ive used a military poncho as shade. Since Ive upgraded to an ENO SingleNest, the poncho is too small. I dont really care about weight,...
Soon to be Eagle Scout with Troop 106 out of Navarre, FL. Another Eagle scout and I both have a little spot at the Scout Camp we go to that has enough space to hang two hammocks and have a social...
