My wife used a Nest on hers for years. Uses it on her new Chameleon. My sons and I are all using UGQs quilts. They work very well, even with bottom entry.

That looks pretty similar to how my HH has hung for the last 7 years. I sleep **** comfy in it that way.
Luckily all of our dogs are Rez dogs. Bugs really don't bother them. We also tend to plan our canoe trips in May and July-Oct. Less bugs out then and usually cooler as well. Our current dogs only go...
Wow. Last time I posted in this thread was over 4 years ago.
Our little three man tent is still going strong for the dogs. We no longer have our retriever or boxer/lab (brain tumour and cancer), but...
Hey HOGShop, you need to increase the amount of info on your products. For example, while it appears that your silpoly tarp is a winter tarp design, there is nothing stating that on the site. Having...
It was awesome seeing everyone again. Can't wait till next year. The weather made for some great hang out times with everyone.
It should be visible. Look for the trail going off the road.
Drive safe Poppins. We'll have the fire going when you get there.
8-9 in the evening?
Woohoo! About 14 hours until we head out! I guess I should finish packing. Should be there around noon tomorrow. Hopefully there is parking.
There should still be lots of snow in the bush. It should have a pretty thick crust though.
It's raining right now 200km North of Finland. :(
Ain't that the truth!
We're looking at highs of 2-3 C here this week. Very unseasonably warm. Hopefully it cools off abbot for the hang.
If you find yourself short, we have multiple quilts in the house with 5 hangers, so...
Toots and myself are the only people to show up from out of country as far as I know, but there is no restriction on where you come from. I don't think a year has been missed since it started.
Is that with the windchill?
I'm at -19F with a -35F windchill. I think a lot of peoples systems would get overwhelmed with that wind.
I'm going to head down on the 26th so I can get a few nights out. Anyone else up for heading out early?
That's still pretty standard. I usually pack in 4 jugs myself since we go through one every couple of days.
Just found out the boss is going to the tropics in Feb instead of Jan, so I'll be there again this year.
Down to about 10F I don't use anything and have never really had a cold face. Once it gets cold out I'll use a buff or neck warmer pulled up.
Personally, I'd prefer earlier in the month. The end of January is practically spring. Maybe put up a poll on the potential dates and see which one can have the most attendees?
Warm and wet in the Northwoods. Lots of bugs this year. On the plus side, I get my brand new canoe next week, so more places to explore and hang!
That is a VERY cool UQP.

Had to go with a backyard hang for March. Too many kid activities to get out. Had a good nights sleep at about 4C. Hopefully I'll make it out to the woods in April.
You need a new LNT master trainer.
That sounds suspiciously like the start to a horror movie.
6/6 with the weekends hang.
Here's Februarys hang. Got out with my boys and some friends for the night. Low of -4C with a ton of snow over night.

Welcome from Northwestern Ontario! Lots of great info to be found here to get you hanging in style.
5/5. Will be 6/6 this weekend.
Cool video! The hike to Section 13 was amazing! I'm going to try to actually get some pics up today.
I've never understood the expedition. The explorer offers so much more room and more comfort. They'd probably get much better reviews if they just ditched the Expedition altogether as so many people...
My GSI coffee press is am absolute necessity. It makes for a nice cup of coffee in the morning. :)
Lol. I was just thinking of all the memories you had right at the tip of your nose. :)
Why'd you do that? :)
Awesome Poppins! Next year we'll see how three or four at a time work on the fire. :)
Awesome pic Poppins!
Thanks LookinForArrows! It turned out pretty good. I didn't take many, but they all seemed to turn out.
Got my January hang in with two nights at the Minnesota Frozen Butt Hang. Got down to -29C/-20F on the second night.

Toots and I made it back safe to Canada. Thanks again tp our American neighbours for hosting another awesome hang. The first night was great bit the second night was spectacular. -20*F! Lots of PR...
Toots and I will be leaving at 6 am Friday morning. We're blasting right through Finland and heading to Ely to loom at mukluks, then heading back. Should be there around 10-11am.
Getting stoked...
I have 4 gallons of water already packed. My pulk is almost ready to go, need to pick up the coffee crisps.
The parking lot is the grey dot. The pin is the end of the walk. Directly North is a pine stand. We'll be hanging in there.
When we started hanging my daughter was 4. An integrated bug net is essential. We've found a kid flipped upside down a couple of times. I disagree on the full sized sleeping bags. Our younger two are...
I'm bringing some garlic bread, and, something else. Another person as well.
Welcome from NW Ontario!
I would count it as December. If it counted for both you could camp out at the end of every second month, which is only 6 nights.
I got a 20 degree long from UGQ this past fall. Used it down to around freezing and was still comfortable. I went with the 20 as it covers me for 6 months of the year up here. My winter quilt comes...
I use my down vest or jacket. Dual use and warm and comfy.
Thanks for the smile and chuckle on a rather sad Christmas. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Welcome from Canada. We only have a short period of warm weather here, and it is nice in the hammock.
