That's what I'm talkin bout!
They sort of go together most of the time. A light item usually packs smaller than a heavy one.
it's really simple and takes less than 5 minutes. Try it out!
Google it bro
What size are they?
You don't have to be a donating member.
It's pretty simple.
It's fact bro. Some materials stretch more than others.
Depends how much you like your gear. Usually it's pretty safe to leave base camp setup, but I've had my tent and pack stolen. I don't leave anything anymore.
You should be looking for 2 different hammocks. 2 people in a hammock is uncomfortable.
I protect myself and family with things not permitted to be discussed on this forum.
It's solved then. Rednecks must not hammock camp.
I don't care at all what you use. If you like straps that stretch, that's cool. Enjoy dude.
It's heavy, the fit is terrible, etc. Do a quick Google search on the reviews for it. I checked it out in rei as well and it sucks every bit as much as the reviews said it would.
I just like to keep my base weight 15lbs or less. My days of humping around the 100lb Alice pack is a thing of the past. It's just more enjoyable for me with a lighter load.
That's too much extra weight. Just hang it from the hammock suspension.
No problem, happy hanging!
That uq sucks
This is a common question that's asked all the time. Did you search?
Usually on the hammock suspension or on a small piece of tyvek or similar material on the ground and covered with a pack cover.
2 minutes 24 seconds
Cool story, I hope you don't fall.
You've compromised the integrity of that line. Don't use it for anything load bearing. Buy some new line to hang from.
A lot of people love that hammock.
Do some reading around here and watch shugs videos. This has all been covered many times over. These same questions come up every day or two.
I have a gt double and its good for someone under 6ft tall. You might find it too short to get a comfortable lay.
That's normal. And don't use paracord.
I'll stick to my silnylon.
Old news bro
Exactly right.
It's not a flame, it's just reality.
As your pack gets lighter your hikes become more fun instead of a job. I don't wanna be thinking about how my back and joints hurt while I'm trying to enjoy nature.
I was in the military and...
Nothing good in life comes easy. No one is willing to put in the leg work anymore and do the research. They want everything handed to them.
Quit being lazy, it's ruining society.
That's a super heavy setup and doesn't even include an uq.
You shouldn't mess with things that aren't yours.
The vicious hammock gear love/hate relationship lives on. Hahaha, good luck everyone!
Whoopies are by far the best option.
Excellent plan, you'll like it.
Correct.
If that's all you got is paracord, you can use it for now. But it stretches a lot and its really heavy. Your tarp will sag pretty bad especially if it rains and the cord gets wet. I...
That's way overkill and you want the rope to break before the tarp shreds.
And to the op, I think you are meaning to ask about a ridgeline. Guy lines are the ones that hold the perimeter(corners)...
I had a similar experience. I was not impressed and ordered my other quilts from elsewhere.
I've ripped many bug nets and mesh panels. It doesn't matter how many tests are done, stuff happens and I'm rough on gear.
I know that I couldn't be trusted with the xlc, you gentler folks might...
Whoopies for sure
I know I would rip it to shreds. But cool idea for those gentle folks who want a view.
Haha, there's no way I would get a hammock with a footbox made of bugnet material. I would rip it for sure and even if I didn't my feet would be up against it getting bit by bugs.
I haven't checked out the new website yet but I can say the customer service and product I received was excellent!
An under quilt is the best if you can afford it.
I don't have any idea how you managed to gain 2 lbs switching to a hammock.
Very simple, ditch the stretchy eno junk, get non stretch straps and attach via a toggle, buckles or rings.
