I camped at McDill Pt with some friends in February. Windy!!!!!! Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever been there when it wasn't windy. Great spot to try out that new tarp! Beautiful place!
I'm 6' 200 lbs and use a Clark NX250 or 5 years. I sleep better in my hammock than my bed!
Count me in and thanks!!!
What is the lowest temp you've slept in with this quilt?
Thanks Berk!
Any idea what the approximate temp rating on an underquilt using 2 layers of 6.0 APEX climashield would be?
Will the turtle dog work with a Clark NX-250? Not sure about the top rail length.
Just finished hiking section 4 this weekend. It was dry except for Scott's lake area.
I would love to see some pics of your set up with the underquilt!
Could you post the link, please?
Any pics of the UQ set up on the Clark?
I'm in! Merry Christmas!
Count me in! Merry Christmas!
Great choice! I have the Vertex tarp with my NX250 and the extra coverage is awesome.
I feel your pain! My wife denied the request for full time hang for both of my sons!
And...Welcome from South Alabama!
I highly recommend the Clark NX-250.
My NX-250 does not have bug netting on the head end. I live in south Alabama and completely understand your hot weather concerns. I have camped in mine with daytime highs in the 90's and was...
Very interesting!
Welcome from South Alabama!
Brilliant!
Where in Virginia is the canoe located?
That was incredible! I enjoyed this more than NBC's coverage!
I've got the vertex and love it. Easily covers the NX250 and my pack.
I put whoppies on mine and haven't regretted it.
Welcome from another Chris in South AL. I grew up in Cleburne Co.
Welcome from South AL!
I'm in! Cool looking setups:D
Way cool! Christmas in February!
Whoopies worked great. 20 mph winds! 42 F and stayed nice and toasty with a pad and 20 deg bag. No slippage at all on the whoopies.
Just installed whoopies on my NX-250. Adjusting the hammock was EASY! Plan to load test them tonight!:D
Welcome DCC46!
Being TOO hot is certainly a concern here in South AL. Your idea makes sense to me and I'll probably give it a go next spring. The weather forecast is for mid 30's here tomorrow night so being too...
Awesome!!!!
Hammock has been purchased.
Thanks HitchHiking. My youngest son is studying Australia in his 4th grade class. He also enjoyed the report but wanted to know where all the Koalas are?:D:D:D
Welcome from S AL! :)
My NX-250 just arrived yesterday and I haven't been able to hang it yet. Maybe tonight!
Cold (relative) and windy in South AL tonight! You should give it a test hang for sure!
Bradley,
What is the lowest temp you can sleep in your Clark without some type of quilt or insulation in the pockets?
Whew! Don't make me nervous. I may not sleep tonight in anticipation as it is!:D
Sorry Bradley, I'm not tracking you??? Who is Doris?
Welcome from South Alabama!
One more day!
Congratulations Southpaw! Didn't you just unload a Clark?
Hey Baja, let me know how the PL's work in your Clark pockets. I've loved PL's since Uncle Sam issued me my first one in the early 90's. My two boy's sleep with theirs every night. I'd sleep with...
"not your everyday nine to five but it still has all the same problems, just presented in a different format... i.e leaches instead of annoying co-workers.... "
I think I prefer the leaches! :D
Sweet rig! Come on Thursday!
Well, I finally did it. Called the guys at Clark Friday and my NX-250 should arrive next Thursday. I'm going to have many questions I'm sure. I will certainly be taking advantage of the wisdom and...
