Beautiful area! Enjoy!
Paddling and hammocks- two of my favorite things! Looks like you did it right!
I tried to skimp on my sleeping bag on a one-nighter to Blood Mountain once. It was cold, and the wind whipped right through the windows of the old shelter on top. Coldest night of my life! I...
That's what I thought, too. Lolz
Gossamer Gear LT3 hiking poles! An early present that was very handy on my trip to the Shining Rock Wilderness a few days ago. I love them already :boggle:

What the others said, but it looks like a cozy setup. Happy hanging!
Yes, please! I'm in.
Why not?
I'm in.
Great pics. I can only imagine what that much snow would be like!
Nothing against guns, but I think a good can of bear spray foots the bill just fine. It's lighter weight and does not requires maintenance.
And as for storage, I like it strapped on the pack hip...
+1 on Tendertoe's method
So does it count as multi-use gear, now?
+1 on the support!
This would be a great way to facilitate discussions on how to achieve SUL weights with a hammock. I'm all for it!
This past weekend I used one of the 20" wide blue foam pads down to 39 in the Smokies and was plenty warm. The pad only went to my knees, so my only complaint is that my feet were a little cold....
Wow, this is really interesting stuff! Thanks for the info!

18 degrees...

Is there anywhere to find regular 2mm dynaglide at lengths less than 150 feet? Maybe like 50 feet.
I will have to try the spacer sticks and see how I like it. Thanks for the ideas!
I've thought about living out of a hammock. It sounds pretty cool, and it sure is cheaper than paying pesky rent! Keep us updated on how it goes.
It seems that the most popular method of suspension is Whoopie slings. From what I can tell, the real strengths of the Whoopies is the ease of setup and adjustment. They are also lighter weight than...
Yeah, great report, great pictures. I'm envious of your backyard.
I really enjoy the gurgling sounds of a creek as I fall asleep, but it's hard to beat a campsite with a view. I like to mix things up and try different spots.
Of course with foul weather or bugs I...
In true Ewok style. That's too cool!
You should look into taking a trip to California to hang in a 370 ft. Redwood!
In a hammock, I don't really need much more than a balled up shirt or jacket. It works fine for me!
