I've also got the big petzel asccenders but they are too big and bulky to use effectively, are these what you had thought i was using? I use the very small tiblocs no bigger than a zippo lighter and...

No i dont think its 10 mm rope, think it may be 8mm? And the ascenders weigh next to nothing really.

It is stock suspension and so does grab very well so far, smaller tiblocs would be ideal though!
I also think i could use my dremel to make the trough a little deeper to allow it to grab onto...

It will no doubt eventually force me to replace my ropes but its an easy enough operation to do and so far im quite enjoying the ease of adjustment and set up. And yes they are tiblocs :)
